If the lights are on the power is to the machine and if not look for a bad plug in back or loose wiring in the machine . . if htis was a day age then we will rule out a hot motor . it may be a door sw . and also the main board. but do ck for loose connections .. hope this helps mm

The dryer will not start if a thermal fuse is blown and appears no function is working, the motor doesn't run and no heat at all. But the intermittent turning on of the lights indicates otherwise. Check to make sure that power is getting into the machine as indicated by the turning on of the drum light when the door is opened. Provide additional information particularly the exact model number of the dryer for specific and accurate troubleshooting. The more information is provided, the quicker the troubleshooting and addressing of the problem is. You don't have to accept or reject and rate this post to add information or post comments and follow-up questions. But accepting a solution will not stop you from communicating with an expert. Disconnect then open the dryer door and remove the four screws located
    vertically along the
inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to
    the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed,
grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then
twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the
top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

You now have access to the blower housing where the thermal fuse is located alongside with the cycling thermostat or thermistor depending on the series of your dryer.

Bypass the thermal fuse taping the wires together and insulating them properly. Plug in and start the dryer. The thermal fuse is indeed blown and needs to be replaced along with the cycling thermostat if the dryer runs and work fine. Replacing the thermal fuse and the cycling thermostat is a must if that is the case. Do not use the dryer with the thermal fuse or any other part bypassed due to fire hazards.

Test the continuity of the thermostats in the blower housing and the burner assembly particularly the high-limit thermostat. Other series of this model includes another thermal fuse in the burner assemly so make sure to check if there's any.

Test the continuity of every thermostat and/or thermal fuse both on the blower housing and the burner assembly. If all pass the test, take the door switch out and join the three connectors together to bypass it and then plug in and start the dryer. Replace the door switch if the dryer runs, otherwise the control board is malfunctioning, replace it.

My Neptune dryer has begun beeping when off. Now the control panel lights are on, power button is blinking and none of the buttons will work

Owner's manual? Troubleshooting section. Customer service call. They are usually helpful. Wild guess, problem with the gas supply. Could be lower than normal gas pressure because of the high demand in cold weather. Could also be a similar electrical voltage lower than normal. The "brains" in appliances are too smart sometimes.

Maytag Neptune gas dryer beeps.

NO RESETS OTHER THAN TO UNPLUG THE DRYER FOR 5 MINUTES, THEN RECONNECT POWER. ON ANY ELECTRONIC CONTROL, THIS WILL RESET THE CONTROL'S MICROCOMPUTER. IF THAT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, THE TOUCH SWITCH MAY BE FAULTY.
