Kenmore top loaders are equipped with an auto-leveling system on the back two feet of the washer. Typically, what happens when the washer becomes off-balance it's a simple matter of the auto-leveler needing to be readjusted. This is a very simple process that requires no special tools. The following link explains:

The rear auto-leveler should be periodically checked from time to time to ensure the washer maintains level. Any excessive vibration may cause the rear of the washer to become mal-adjusted. This is normal. Once the rear feet are properly leveled, make sure the front feet are adjusted so that the washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Use a level across the top of the washer cabinet (NOT the lid! The lid on most washers is slightly bowed.) to check.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

What does error code dc mean?

DC error code means: "Unbalanced load". It can occur if the washer:
1. is overloaded (too many clothes inserted),
2. can't balance the load within a few balance cycles,
3. has a damaged balance sensor,
4. isn't regulated properly (vibrates abnormally).
IMHO you just overloaded the washer :)

Why does washing machine drum bounce around?

i had same problem but i was terrible at balancing loads......also being a male i tend to overload and this also did not help.....under normal loads the shocks get a big work out going in alternating directions and with full loads......if it bounes on spin it is poor balancing,if it bounces and bangs while washing i would think shocks or overloaded

Kenmore washer flashing f71

These machines are very touchy and go out of balance easily. You may find success by unplugging the machine for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. Also consider releveling the machine. If you may have overloaded it, avoid that in the future. hope this helps!

Sounds like it is out of balance. really noisy.

If overloaded or heavy items being washed it will spin out of balance.Try a lighter load to make sure its not just a one off fault. If no good its probably the drum bearings unfortunately.(needs engineer call out).

This type of thing should not be required. Front load washing machines (well, topload too i guess) will balance themselves out for the spin cycle unless the machine is grossly overloaded.

Good luck.
