Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a unique problem that I have never seen before and have tried everything I can think of to fix it. I'm running IE8 on Winxp and for some reason it won't read style sheets (CSS) of any website either on or off-line. I don't have a problem using Google Chrome but I would rather use IE because I design websites and need to be able to see the results using both browsers. I wanted to try Ubuntu and installed it replacing XP but didn't like it so I switched back to xp. This problem started after I reinstalled XP and I have tried reinstalling XP again to see if that solved the problem, but it didn't help. I hope someone knows a six for this. Thanks!

IE8 problems

That sounds to me like something is there that got into your system unexpectidly.
I would restore my system to before IE8. Press start and search for restore point. Select the one that Windows made before installing IE8 and go for it.
Install Advanced System Care from iobit.com and run the whole programme. Then if you must have IE8, install it. You will be equiped to deal with anything the net throws at you now.

Hi,ive set up my zyxel p660 router with eircom broadband, its saying its connected but when i try to go online theres no internet pleeeeaaaassseeee help! thanks, shane

More than likely it cannot locate the DNS for your IP services. What I do when this happens is completely shut down everything computer modems router etc. The restart the whole ball of electronics. Then I reset the routers if this does not work then I open IE8 and do a diagnostic usually IE8 will find the issue and either explain it or fix it. That is what I do. Try that the IE8 fix it process it works for me. Thanks for using FixYa! John

I m trying to install internet explorer 8 but .it show no entry found.how can i solve the problem

You've tried to install IE version 8 on a windows system (would like to know WinXP/Vista/Win7 ?) that has one or more registry problems. FIX: run a registry sanity checker/fixer appropriate for your version of Windows and retry the IE8 install - the install will
remove (clean out) any invalid/useless IE8 junk already on the system - such as your invalid IE8 registry entries.

www.pctools.com offers a Windows registry checker, but Microsoft offers SCANREG.EXE free - see:

www.support.microsoft.com/kb/183887

for appropriate command-line switches.

Getting read memory errors after installing ie8 - states some dll is corrupt

go to cnet.com and download trojan remover. install it and run it. it will fix everything and restore things to it's rightfull location. when you finish delete it. i recommend IE7 it is better because it has phisling filter. IE8 cause alot of problems for most pc like slow running pc page not displaying. ie8 not a good one ie7 very good

If you have IE-8 installed, then uninstall it and it will start working.
You can uninstall IE-8 using this command in the run dialog box:
"C:\WINDOWS\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe

Exactly same problem

Because of security fixes it is unwise to revert back to IE6. Simply install IE8 and don't use it. Try Firefox, Safari, or Opera for your web browser. Microsoft products are ALL designed to be updated regularly. Probably the fastest way to fix the error is simply wipe your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. I think I would try repairing your IE6 installation if you have not tried that already. Control panel, add/remove programs area will have the option.

Won't install without error message

Excerpt from: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/01/26/upgrading-to-internet-explorer-8-release-candidate-1.aspx

There is 1 update required when running IE8 RC1 on multi-core XPSP2 x86 computers:
KB932823 or KB946501.
This update resolves a problem in which an access violation occurs when an application exists on a Windows XP SP2-based multi-core computer. It will be installed automatically if you select “Install the latest updates” option in Setup Wizard. If this update fails to install successfully, IE8 installation will be blocked until you manually install this update from Microsoft Download Center.
So see if you can do a manual install of this update. There are a number of other suggestions in the above link that might also help.

Good Luck!
