Question about Philips HDD1630 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Philips HD1630 Sometimes when I turn off my mp3 and turn it back on 5-10 minutes later, the screen will come back up, but it won't let me do anything including shutting it back off. I have to wait for the battery to die, recharge it to get it to come back on and respond. Is there some sort of way to reset it?

Volume + and power at the same time is the rest method.
If your computer has Windows Media Player 11 on it, rollback to Windows Media Player 10 - this player does not work well with WMP 11 - might have been source of issue.

Use this link:

http://www.support.philips.com

and some minutes later you will have songbird again.
At first you should find your product and then you will see the possibility of downloading the software.
Good luck!
Thanks.

Shutsoff, stays off problem...

Get the updated verison of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website, and then click on the Update button once you have installed the new Device Manager.

Several things to be wary of:
* a Philips player ending in "/02" is designed for use outside of the United States
* the SA5125 is incompatible with Windows Vista and Windows Media Player 11 without a firmware upgrade

BIG problem. PLZ help!!! :(

The Samsung YP-F1 has a reset button located under the black Samsung cover plate. It can be gently removed via a finger nail or mini flat blade screwdriver. Once plate is removed a hole labeled reset will be seen. Use something like a paper clip and press in. MP3 will power down/reset. MP3 data is also retained after reset.

Either run the installation CD that came with the player, or download the updated version of the software from the Philips website - www.usasupport.philips.com

My Mp3 wont start up...

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).
