Right after I turn it on it doesn't even go to the desktop page and then it turns off completely. Is it a problem with the fan?

Is the fan running? if there is no fan running, then that is your problem, but you should check your RAM first as this is more likely.

you have to considered these things if can establish right
1. does any light indicator at the panel of your pc?
2. how about the fan in the PSU does it work?
3. also the processor fan it is working or get stuck up.

Turn on cpu and it doesn't boot

open your pc panel, look for the heat-sink fan over your cpu(processor). there is a small fan over it and if it is not spinning your PC will not boot. could be a wiring issue where the wires(white/red usually) are broken or not connecting to motherboard good enough. check those but be careful no to break wires or connections. you may need to replace the heat sink module. if any capacitors on motherboard are swollen(little cylinder looking objects with + mark on top) will indicate overheating and motherboard may have failed. if fans spin on heatsink, then pc boot file may be damaged where then a shop will cost to fix it. fans will be the cheap fix else$$$

After powering on monitor says no sync

I've almost the same problem. When the system turns on the monitor doesn't sync. After a variable trials with down/up the sync is enabled and the computer starts.A very clear event occurs : when the monitor can''t sync ( and system doesn't boot)you can hear very clear a high fan rotation. When I look/hear in the system the Isuspect the cpu fan. The system boots ( monitor syncs) when the fan rotationgoes from high to low. So the system hangs on an internal check on the rotation speed of the cpu fan.I've googled a lot , but until now doesn't find an answer . Possibilties which I think about : replace cpu fan , clean cpu fun ( but it looks clean).I cannot measure the fan rotation speed when the system is hanging. At normal rotation all info can retrieved witth the program cpu-z.Did you already have a solution ?

Hi, I have a dell dimension 5100. I inserted a 1gb ram but it was the wrong one. I took it out and replaced it with the old ones. Now the computer doesn't boot properly - turns on but doesn't load...

Remove all the memories and insert them again, make sure you insert them in the proper way as the slot is keyed.
Memory issues can be identified by the beep sounds.
If you have more than one memory, remove one and insert only one of them and try to boot.
Hope this will help.

I have a HP Compaq DX2000MT computer. When I want to start up the pc, he gives 10 beeps and the following message : Chassis fan not functioning, check fan connections & call for service. Shutting...

Without the chassis fan the pc would overheat and fry so it's shut down. Do what the warning message says: open the case, clean the interior and check the wire connector of the fan. If the fan still doesn't turns then it has failed and it will have to be replaced - a new one costs$10 at every pc shop.
You will need the manuals for service and maintenance

Acer aspire m1202. turns on but no bio view just runs the fans and there isnt any sort of beep code either. just runs and runs nothing happens. oh and you cant turn it off via power button you gotta unplug...

t f doesn't open

* remove the fan/blower n the processor and check if there's still a heat sink paste on it. (most part of center metal attach),then clean the sorroundings of the process...this s due to an overheat that's why the blower or fan might sometimes stuck up at the pc stop working.

* detach each memory and try to clean the slots and put it back properly.

* check the power supply, might getting open voltage and needs replacement.

hope t helps...

My tower turns on and makes this consistent beeping sound. And nothing shows on the screen.

I believe from my own past that the beeping sound is an over-heating alarm, and that you need to get more fans installed inside. Try taking off the door to your tower, and point a fan in on it and turn off the computer, wait about 5 minutes with the fan set to high to see if that solves your problem. If it doesn't then I suggest you take it in to the shop or wait for some more possible answers on here.

Hope this helps!
