Question about Kenmore Dishwashers
I have encountered that on my own whirlpool dish washer. What you should first do is if you can let it fill a little than force it straight to drain. If when set to drain you hear the pump going then you most likely have a clog somewhere and will have to look at the drain inside the washer. If you do this and there is no clog then the impeller probably broke off the motor and you will have to replace the drain pump. If the pump is not running you will need to pull the cover plate off the bottom of the washer below the door. From here you need to locate the drain pump which is usually near the middle and will have a line leading out from it to drain the water. Once you locate that you should check to see if the connection is good by unplugging it and replugging it. Try the test again. If it still does not work you will need to replace it. You can order a replacement pump online or at some hardware stores if they do appliance servicing.
