By distortion do you mean that the top part is stretched? If so, you have bad caps in the vertical circuit. If you are comfortable working inside hte set and can solder, you can fix this yourself. Please post the model number and I can give you the details.

You have vertical output problems. There is distortion at the top because of a faulty vert. output i.c. or a faulty electrolytic capacitor. It's possible there may be a problem at your yoke also.It needs a professional repair.

Sound Distortion on Mlt1912

The hard way, if you have the skill, is to replace the speakers.  The bad news is that this probable won't fix it as it is likely that it is internal noise causing the distortion.

there is an easy solution that will probable work.  Using the audio output connection you could hook it up to a stereo system or boom box and use those for sound.   the only thing technical is making sute your cord has the right connectors/adapters on each end.  take a picutre or a good look at both devices audio connectors (output on the TV, input on the Stereo/boombox) and the salesman at your local electronics store should be able to help you find just what you need.
at a guess you will likely need an RCA female to RCA female cord or an RCA to stereo mini male.

hope this helps.

The bottom third of the screen is black and the rest of the picture is scrunched up. it is a part failure so not possible to adjust it. as it has developed watching tv so it is a part failure in vertical section. in vertical section there is a feed back ckt.it is due to electrolytic capacitor (most probably)or any other component but in feed back ckt. it is a common failure it is not major problem.can be rectified at your place with in no time by a skilled tech.

Bowlike effect convergence all screwwed up

I suspect you originally had an intermittent solder connection on the convergence circuit board. This may have damaged the convergence IC's on that board by now if repairing those connections doesn't fix the set.

well based on ur info, ur tv has a prolem in power supply section, particularly regulation circuit. the regulator of the circuit seems to be mulfunctioning thats why insufficient voltage is coming out from B+ which in turn goes to high voltage circuits thats why the produced picture is insufficient. if this is very technical to u, have it check with a qualified technician.
