Please elaborate on your symptoms a little more so I can understand how to diagnose correctly.

Does the washer fill, then stop?

Does it fill and make a rattling noise when attempting to agitate?

Does it fill and make a humming noise when attempting to agitate?

Does the washer drain after it fills?

You will need to double check the motor coupling to ensure it has not broken. You can use the following link to gain access to it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385252-replacing_motor_coupling_whirlpool_top

If you inspect the coupling and it is intact, your drive motor could be seized or the start capacitor on the motor could be faulty. Let me know what you find. If you need further advice and/or parts information let me know. I hope this helps you.

Frigidaire heavy duty super capacity 2 speed combonation sometimes goes through cycle fine but mostly continuously fills and drains at start S.N. XE32103237 - FEZ831CAS2

All front loading washers will fill and drain multiple times before it finishes. Unlike a top loader, a front loading washer will take longer to run because there is no agitator and will fill with water and drain multiple times. A front loader is more energy efficient than a Traditional top loading washing machine. A washer dryer combo will take hours to complete a cycle.

Whirlpool top loader agitates when filling up

Whirlpool top loader agitates when filling up
Nothing, I'm not sure what the problem could be because it does not happen all the time and when it does, it usually fixes itself. M# WTW57ESVW1

your water supply perhaps it is too low pressure ....

so the machine isnt filling fast enough

so check at the machine side of the cold water filler hoze
in the machine end is a filter cone
you need to carefully pull it out with flat nose pliers and clean it
if this doesnt fix it then perhaps the inlet valve is bad...

Model wdss4120aww GE Washer is leaking

If it's leaking during the agitation cycle, and only in 'large' and 'super' water levels, then that's just the way the washer is designed. I got rid of that piece of junk.

Washer had filled and agitated, but when went to spin produced a loud screeching noise. what might it be? this is an inglis front loader super capacity 2001.

It may be a a worn or broken drive belt.

OR

Some Whirlpool brands washing machines have a two piece agitator. The bottom is call the agitator and the top is usually referred to a 'Mover'. A multi-piece cam and bearing assembly connects the two and allows the top portion to index. If the bearing or cams become stripped or damaged, the mover will often not work and the cam parts will have to be replaced.

OR

It may be a bad motor.
Hope this helps.

Washing machine Kenmore 3.2 cu ft Super capacity plus top loader

fabi, if Im reading you right the machine fills with water and just sits there. Can you hear the motor running when it should be agitating? If so you might have a broken coupler. If the machine is quiet and just sits there, it could be the pressure switch. The first picture shows the pressure switch with the rubber hose and purple wire going to it (far left). There is no model number posted but this is a top loading Kenmore, should be close. Take the rubber tubing off the switch and blow into the switch with another piece of tubing. Does it start agitating? If so, there's your problem. If you do hear the motor running and it's not agitating it may be the motor coupler. If you need more assist...email me at [email protected] Catriver..post back.
