Question about Hunter 20531 Vista Brushed Nickel Ceiling Fan

1 Answer

Both light feature and fan have stopped working, they started to show some early signs of failure as sometimes it would take 2-3 times playing with remote to turn on, then just quit. Remote is fine, batteries are new, I am assuming it is the ballast?

Vehicle starts and runs beautifully, but after about 10 min. shuts down and will not start. Fuel problem, Overheating, safety feature so won't ruin motor, how to repair?

Might run beautifully but you have to check the thermostat works. Check that the fan cuts in when it should do. Check that your radiator is entirely clear of obstructions. Check that there is no water in your oil .
Failure to tackle overheating at an early stage can cause engine failure.

A/C blower fan quit working

An intermittent motor is usually caused by deteriation of the motor cummutator or brushes. This will get worse with time, so I would go ahead with the repair. Ask the mechanic to also make sure the system is in good order to avoid a repeat of the early failure. A clogged drain or coolant leak can cause premature blower failure.

There are a number of hints that can signal failure. The obvious ones are when the pump fails catastrophically and causes rapid water loss, the fan wobbles and possible damages the radiator, etc.
However, that is not always the case in impending failures. Squealing can be a sign of pump bearing failure. Pudding of coolant under the front center of the vehicle is a telltale sign of pump leakage. Water pumps have a "weep hole" that lets a small amount of coolant escape when the bearing sleeve is wearing out. But you can be losing coolant from the pump and not see the puddle because in the early stages of failure, the pump will only weep while running. Then the fan blows the coolant back onto the block where it evaporates. You can look for the weep hole on the bottom side of the water pump where the shaft enters the sleeve. Look for signs of coolant streaking or small gatherings of coolant on engine parts just below the pump. The primary consideration is that there is coolant going missing. You may be able to remove the serpentine belt and wiggle the pump shaft to see if there is any side-to-side play in it. There should be none.

Multiple problems with Hyundai Sonata : 1. Car does not start very often. 2. When it does I have an orange light on the dash showing a car with skid marks. 3.The shifter gets stuck in park sometimes.

on your a/c blowing warm air at stops it sounds like radaitor cooling fan not working, fan motor or fan relay most likly cause, light with skid marks sounds like anti=lock brake system problem, possible bad wheel speed sensor, on shifter getting stuck and engine not starting sounds like ignition switch going bad, hope this helps ?

Our Blu-Ray player has a lot of problems playing Blu-Ray disks. Sometimes it doesn't load at all and sometimes it stops in the middle of the movie and we can't get it to reload the same disc. Lately we've...

Yes I would replace it, the laser pickup assembly is showing early signs of failure, it will often play the regular dvd movies because there is less demand on the laser tracking system. The cost to replace is cheaper than repairing the unit.

Hello, after installing processor, memory module and grahics card, the MB AOpen AK77-333 makes a couple of CPU fan revolutions after it is powered-on and then stops. Thank you for the reply,

That old puppy may have bad Electrolytic Capacitors.

(Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor)

Specifically the ones in the motherboard voltage regulator circuit, and more specific the ones used for the voltage regulation to the Processor.

(AOpen AK77-333 details,

Go to the bottom of the page to click to the additional information. 7 Pages)

Visual signs of capacitor failure,

{ Back in the day there was espionage at a large capacitor company.
An employee tried to abscond with an Electrolytic Capacitor paste formula.
The company got a heads up before this transpired, and she was given a bogus formula.

The formula didn't have the correct chemical composition, and would develop gas after a time period.
The gas (Hydrogen Gas) expands in the capacitor, and causes seals to be compromised, where the paste is then pushed out.
So much paste loss, and the capacitor can operate in a weakened state.
Too much paste loss, and the capacitor fails

The AOpen motherboards were made in this time period, and not to slam AOpen, but they grabbed up on cheap quality capacitors. Guess which ones they got? AOpen is now out of business.

There were 1000's upon 1000's of these Electrolytic Capacitors made, and they are STILL plaguing electronic components today.

Just a heads up if you find problems with other electronic devices, or components also.
(I replaced some in a Modem. Modem has worked great for 2 years now) }

Problem is that Electrolytic Capacitors do not always show visual signs of failure. The paste can also dry up inside, and no outward visual sign will be apparent.

It could also be a bad Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail.
Enough power to light LED lights, and maybe spin fans a few times, but not enough power to turn the Processor on.

1) ALL of the LED light on at once use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 watts of power.
Depends on what processor it is.

AOpen AK77-333?

Socket A (Also known as Socket 462) processor socket. Uses AMD processors with up to a 266MegaHertz Front Side Bus. (266MHz FSB)

AMD Athlon , or Athlon XP, or Duron.

Various LG DVD Player

Some models of PIONEER cd players had radio frequency problems that caused them to work on and off. Are you near any radio or braodcast towers? Poorly shielded power supplies cause this as well. A weak laser diode in the pick-up assembly in model runs could be the problem. You might want to Google the model number and see if this is common for these units.
