Usb port aren't working

Ok these usually happens only because of the drivers not installed or if the right drivers are not installed, Go to device manager and check for USB controller and check for drivers, if missing check your motherboards model number and download the appropriate drivers from the actual brand website of your motherboard. should work now.

Usb wont work

check this things
1.make sure the minimum hardware and operating system requirements of the hardware to be installed are met.
2.just make sure the latest bios code is installed.
3.then make sure the usb is enabled in the BIOS. power on the system, press f1 to access the system configuration utility.click devices and i/o ports and then click usb.
5. make sure the usb controller and hub are listed in the device manager as will as any installed devices for the usb option.
6. then you can try the device in all available usb ports.if it works in other usb ports, the non working ports probably defective.

I cannot get my keyboard or my mouse to work with my dell computer. what can i do?

Please add more information to get specific assistance. Are these wireless devices? If wired, do they use USB or PS/2 connections.

For wireless devices, try replacing the batteries and resynching to the receiver. (You may want to check putting the receiver in different USB ports.)

For wired devices, disconnect and reconnect. For PS/2 devices, you will need to restart the computer to check if the devices work. For USB devices, try connecting to different USB ports.

Next step, try using a different keyboard and mouse (that work on another computer (stick to USB or PS/2 to match the current pair)). Try a wired set if the problem is with a wireless pair. If those work, continue diagnostics on the wireless keyboard and mouse. Check if the mouse and keyboard work on another computer. If they don't work with another computer, replace them.

If another USB keyboard and mouse pair don't work in any port, your USB ports may have failed. Check if even one port works enough to access the Device Manager. (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager (Win7); similar directions in other versions of Windows) Check for a problem with the drivers (For USB ports, scroll down to the USB drivers and look for a triangle with a yellow exclamation point or red x). Try to update the driver or roll it back. If that doesn't help and one USB port works, a USB hub may solve the problem.

Otherwise if the USB or PS/2 ports do not work with any devices and the driver fix doesn't work, then I'd suspect a problem with the ports on the motherboard. Replace the motherboard/computer.

I hope this helps.

Usb ports are not working on motherboard

Hi vkumawat40 ,

Please check the motherboard diagram and confirm if the USB cables have been connected properly.

Or

Check the BIOS and confirm if the USB devices or USB support has been set to enable instead of disabled.

I believe this would solve your problem..:)

Cant connect through USB modem

First you check the USB port with another USB device like pen drive etc or use anothe USB port with your same device. Similarly you check the USB device with another computer to verify whether there is problem in the device.

The emachine model KAWE0 is with operating system windows xp sp1 doesnot recognise any usb device.

Good day sir, hi, usually its one or two ports that does not recorgnise a usb device, but if all ports does not recognise the usb device, check the CMOS setup. check this out;
  • one or two ports does not recognise the usb device, this is a local fault, try to check the CMOS setup, this could also be the port itself is the faulty one having loose connection.
  • all ports does not recognise the usb device, this is a system fault, check again the CMOS setup if the USB port is enabled, check the USB device itself also. to make sure use another pc to test the usb device.
A computer virus can also cause the usb port to malfunction, run an anti virus software, if possible you can reinstall the XP and test the USB port afterward.

If all else fails, you can buy a USB card and plug it on the expansion slot on your PC.

Ibm not boot from usb

When the system starts up there is usually a key to hit for SETUP, usually ESC, F1, F4, or DEL

Find it, and hit it at the right time.

You will enter the CMOS or BIOS setup.

Once there, locate the BOOT SEQUENCE section and allow a USB boot or external component Boot to be placed int he sequence it it MIGHT work.

Not sure what you're trying to boot from USB for.

Help please.....all of my USB ports have stopped working since I plugged in a digital picture frame a week ago. I have tried every fix that Microsoft help center has recommended. I restored to an earlier...

Get out your voltmeter and check for 5 Volts between pins 1 and 4 ( the two outside pins ) of any USB connector on your computer. If you don't see 5 volts you have somehow blown the fusible resistor on your motherboard or USB adapter card. Obviously replacing it is not for the faint of heart.
Another way of checking is to try one of those dumb USB lights or fans. Make sure it works on a known good computer, then try it on yours. No light or fan - no 5 Volt supply. It's a relatively easy repair - for an expert.

My usb mouse has suddenly stopped working

Your USB ports may have become dissabled by accident
got to your system bios and see if your USB ports are enabled

If your USB ports are enabled check to see that they have an IRQ assigned to them.

if your USB ports are enabled and have an IRQ assigned to them check to see that

"Legacy USB support" is enabled.

reboot.

if the mouse still does not work , you may have dammaged USB ports , or simply a defective mouse.

Hi, First of all check that the usb is compatiable for your pc and the os.Check your installation and trouble shooting manual.
Or try connecting it to some other pc running vista.
check the device manager for the usb port and is active.
Install the device driver from cd if provided.Check the hardware for physical connections or any IO conflicts. Finally also try that usb is enabled in CMOS setup an make it to auto mode.
More troubleshooting tips if not solved, all the best
