What type of MP3 player are you using? The first place I would check would be the manufacturer's website for software and drivers. Let me know.

How to Install:

IMPORTANT: Before doing the installation, please make sure that your PC is running Windows XP (Home or Professional) Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista. For all legal licensees, Windows Service Pack (SP) upgrades are free. Also make sure that you have the administrator privileges on the PC and all antivirus and spyware software is disabled.
  1. Install the music and photo software as well as the device manager by inserting the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. (If the installer menu is not displayed automatically, please click the start.exe file in the root directory of the CD in Windows Explorer.)
  2. From the installer menu, select your preferred language; the welcome screen will appear. Click NEXT to advance through the next pages until you reach the Install Software page, and then click NEXT to start the installation of the Philips Device Manager and Windows Media Player.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  4. As soon as the installation is completed, restart your computer, and then connect your player to the computer using the supplied USB cable.
  5. Once the device is connected, you may see the device appear in the task bar or as a folder in Windows Explorer. Now, you can launch Windows Media Player and use the software to transfer music to your player.

Does you computer detect a new device when you plugged the Coby MP3 player?

if the cmos utility does not register a device, your windows won't
open the case, fix the working device carefully, go to the cmos utility to register the device and your windows will recognise it.

Ilo 2gb mp3 flash player cd problems

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
