Re: My comp is starting up inconrrect.
Most likely a Virus issue. I suggest this free online scanner. Do a full system scan. It may take a while, depending on the amount of data you have, but it should be worth it.
Hope that helps!

Kernel stack errors are nasty and cause blue screen errors. I would check your installed RAM, if there are no errors, the NTFS error is worrying as that means hard drive failure. Take your pick really but Heystack errors can be caused by errors on the hard drive. As you boot up your Desktop, press F8 and select Safe Mode. If it loads then it may be memmory errors. Check memmory by using the BIOS menu and select Memmory Test in the option menu, it will depend on your BIOS version as to what it is called or indeed even where it is, so you may need to search a bit! If you can get into the programmes, back up all you need and then run Recovery from the F8 menu, then reinstall your data but don't bother with AVG use a propper antivirus like Norton or even Microsoft Essentials. Hope this helps.
hi, im new with the whole computer knowledge but i have done some research seeing as i have this comp as well. just like me your needing to upgrade the comp to be more sufficient and up to par with todays upgrades seeing as this comp is old and prolly got it at Best Buy. but if your going to do some heavy media, gaming etc. i suggest getting a new comp that is up to date with todays changes. only reason why is the video card you require for this comp is a PCI which i have read is the lowest quality and probably soon to be obsolete that many programs dont support anymore. dont get me wrong you can still buy them, but dont expect high quality performance. remember you need a PCI not PCI Express (PCIE) to fit the slot that your motherboard has. ive done alot of searches for PCI video cards, i suggest just to google it or check newegg.com. im still actually looking around myself. im sure if you have this comp your also looking for an inexpensive part. anyways i hope this helped.
my upgrades are: 500 hard drive 60 slave 2g memory
If you're typing your password in and it's not letting you log in. Make sure caps lock is off. If it still won't work then it will ask you for your secret questions/tell phone number. The reason it does this is because when you first created your account you set secret info that only you know and if you ever forget your password or someone else gets it, you can recover your account with the secret info. If someone else has changed your password and you can't remember your recovery i.e 2 questions and cell phone number, unfortunately u will have to make a new email account. Try to remember what they were, I know u probably created it along time ago so chances are u've forgotten. U might want to make sure there's no viruses on ur computer too. Download AVG free and run a scan.
It will be easy enough to prove whether it is the Norton or not. Make sure you have it registered with Symantec. Uninstall it using Symantec's Norton Removal Tool.
See how it performs. I don't expect much improvement, but at least you can go back to the vendor with some ammo. Hopefully they wil give you some satisfactory help and then you can reinstall the 360 and login to Symantec to reactivate it.
If it does improve to "new" condition...hmmm, I'll have to think about that.
A question: Where you surfing much before installing the Norton 360? There is always a chance you picked up some spyware/malware that is causing the problem. Comment back.
i guess the question is not very clear to me .. but off what i can figure out, in your desktop 1) sound doesnt come 2) some problem with your cd from (kindly elaborate) for the sound card there can several reasons for the sound not coming 1) Drivers not installed properly 2) you might have installed wrong drivers 3) (Happens in really old comps)if u have moved the cpu cabinet a lot lately, sound card could have been displaced from its socket, in such a case just take out the sound card clean it once and put it back again Most of the times it is the driver which is not getting loaded properly, trying opening windows in safe mode, if the problem persists try reinstalling the driver. and as per the CD rom problem kindly elaborate.. Hi im Joan Hall.I have a suggestion. Please check your IDE Cables. When u reboot your computer it should say detecting IDE Cables. If it beeps that usally means that your computer has an error.See if its not the IDE Cables because they will cause your computer to beep and not boot up right.
