Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

C6180 keeps shutting off and turning on but will not function. I have researched hard resets and other ideas to no avail. Is there a fix to this?

How do you hard reset the uconnect?

My Uconnect is factory installed on my 2005 Dodge Truck. There are two control buttons on the rearview mirror for the uconnect. For a long time my uconnect would not fully function with my bluetooth phone and then lately it quite working most of the time. I did a bunch of research adn found this procedure to do a hard reset. After doing this the uconnect came back fully and all functions are working. I now this sounds stupid and you feel stupid doing it, but it did work for my vehicle.
1- Turn on ignition w/doors closed
2- Press both buttons on mirror for 15-20 seconds
3- Shut off ignition
4- Open door for 5-10 seconds
5- Close door and restart car, Uconnect is now reset

My printer keeps turning itself on and off, code OXL19a0022, is ther a reset procedure? C6180

My C6180 had the same turning on and off problem. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This fixed the on and off problem and also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers .acca299.jpg

Photosmart C6180 All in one printer will not start although live

Strange because I have the same issue, and I've had this printer for over 3 years but the problem just started about a month ago.
I reset the printer by: 1) Unplug power to the printer 2) Hold #6 on the keyboard 3) Plug power cord back in while holding #6 Eventually (10 seconds?) the printer will shut down. Once it does, release #6 and power up the printer again.
Warning: This reset all the configuration settings.
This works for me, but there is still an issue because I have to repeat this every time I turn off/on the printer.

I have HP C6180 and all it does when I turn it on is have a load on the screen and it seems like it just keeps reseting itself

Hi,

The printer is having a hard time to self initialize, which requires a reset. Please try the below steps to fix the issue.

Step 1: Power Drain

  • Turn the Printer OFF
  • Disconnect the USB and power cable from the back of the printer.
  • Remove the power cable from the wall outlet.
  • Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 30 seconds. (Discharges the static current off the capacitors).
  • Connect the Power cable to wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn the printer ON.
If this didn't resolved, try below step 2.

STEP 2: - NVM RESET.
  • Remove the ink cartridges from the printer, close the cartridge doors.
  • Wait for 30 seconds and disconnect the power cable from the back of printer, while the printer is ON.
  • Press and Hold "OK" and "Cancel" key, while holding them, insert the power cable behind and keep holding them for 10 seconds and then release.
  • If the printer goes OFF, push ON button to turn it on.
  • Then insert the cartridges when the display prompts and check the printer.

Thanks & Regards
Rizwan

HP 6150 printer shutting on and off

Open the unit up, you'll probably find a capacitor inside that doesn't have a flat top like mine. Replace that one from your electronics supply store, usually very cheap.
