Question about G-Technology G-DRIVE (90801201) 250 GB Hard Drive

Open Question

I just recently bought a G Drive mini. I used it for the first time today and put all of my imovie projects on it. I properly ejected it and plugged it back in to make sure everything i needed was on it. Now it won't show up on my desktop. I looked in the utilities folder and it's not there either. My computer (macbook pro) seems to not recognize it at all. The drive is turned on and is connected using firewire, and the light on the drive it on.

SOURCE: G Drive

which program are you using to render with and which drive are you asving to if you are saving out to the external drive this will be slow as the usb is about 1.4 mbs - 2 mbs I would sugest that you move all none essential files to external drive and create a floder in the main c drive called my movies or divx avi if you are converting to divx file format and have your capture files in a folder called Capture on c: drive I do large files myself raging to full dvd form and vcd and the converting time is long but I use pinnacle studio I've been using this software for 3 - 4 years now and no problems on time going to main c: drive. make sure you have at least 5-6 gig spare on c: drive for cache disable any non needed progrems and use a good program to cache your hard drive for editing program. the g drive is proberley shutting down or your usb drivers need re-installing. good luck on problem

You may need a new Hard Drive. It sounds as if you have the old Mac. Mini. If so? look on line for Mac Mini 4,1 "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 (Mid-2010) you can find good deals on one, that would cost as much to repair your unit. eBay is one place to look

Does the sony DCR-HC20 supports Macintosh computers? i have this camcorder and i recently got a new mac, can i find drivers for this camera and drivers that are for mac??

You shouldn't need drivers for this, just start iMovie and plug in via a 4pin to 6pin FireWire cable, then power up the camera
iMovie will offer basic control of the camera to import the footage as QuickTime files.

IMovie and Canon ZR500 no image

I have a slightly different but related model of Canon camera. I have found that if you erroneously power it on in "camera" mode instead of "playback" mode, you get the symptoms you describe: you can control the camera with iMovie, but you can't get any video out of it. Make sure you have the power switch in "playback" position -- it's an easy mistake to make.

No sound

Check that if your mac work with headphone and look to input sound, look if there's a red light on!
If above signs exist, you should plugged the cable of your headphone or cable of speaker in input sound, put it there and put out, do this loop till the light going to off and then you'll get the sound

My Iomega Rev drive keeps ejecting the disks I put into it. It has been backing up reliably for a few years now and recently it started ejecting every disk I put into it.

FWIW, I had the same problem...here's what I did.

I would insert a disk and it would get ejected immediately...didn't even look like the light in the eject button would flash. Rebooting the drive and computer didn't work.

I inserted a disk.
Before it could be ejected, I pulled the plug on the Rev Drive.
I waited several seconds
Re-plugged in the rev drive.

It seemed to read my disk and I was able to use my Rev drive. (So far so good...knock on my wooden head.)

Luck
