Question about Sony Handycam DCR-HC28 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

The tape produced by PRINT TO TAPE looks as though a striped mask were placed over it. The original images show through 3 squared areas on the screen. I used a new tape. Watching the screen while the tape was printing, I saw the same thing but, additionally, there was a lot of jiggle. I need a service in the Northwestern part of Connecticut. My Camcorder is DCR-HC28. Thank you, Katherine Davis

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Remove the cartridge. If the drum cover and shipping tape have been removed, have a look at the spring type contacts on the left in the cartridge area. Are they sitting properly? Pointed toward the back of the machine? Springing back into place? The spring responsible for this message is the larger of the two springs. If out of place, you will have to remove the power supply, ensure the contacts are clean. Look into the device at the area above the power supply. There are 4 springs that should be seated on 4 poles. You may have to reseat the relevant spring.

What is the differance between a class 2 safety vest & a class 3 safety vest & is there a class 1

Class 1 safety vests are for workers in low impact areas, where traffic flow does not exceed 25 mph and where personnel are working a good distance away from it. Parking service attendants, delivery vehicle drivers, and sidewalk or roadside maintenance workers are examples of jobs who would qualify for a class 1 safety vest. These vests should have a mandatory minimum of 155 square inches of reflective tape. Dimensions of the reflective tape can be either 6.46 linear feet of 2 inch tape or 9.39 linear feet of 1 3/8 inch tape. The reflective stripes should be around the middle in a 360? stripe and above each shoulder. Vests should be either a safety yellow or safety orange color.
Workers who are involved in jobs where there is heavier traffic are required to wear a Class 2 vest. Jobs that require workers to work in areas where there is poor visibility due to weather will also need a more reflective Class 2 safety vest. Class 2 vests will have a minimum of 201 square inches of reflective tape that is 2 inches in diameter. Dimensions of the reflective tape can be 8.373 linear feet of 2-inch tape or 12.2 linear feet of 1 3/3 inch tape. Examples of jobs that require Class 2 vests are airport baggage handlers and ground crew, forestry workers, high-volume parking or toll-gate personnel and law enforcement personnel. Reflective stripes will be over the shoulders and round the middle in either one or two 360? horizontal stripes.
Jobs that require workers to be the most visible are ones that put personnel in close contact with heavy traffic. High risk jobs include accident site investigators, emergency responders, railway workers, utility workers, and survey and flagging crews. These workers will often be close to traffic exceeding 50 miles an hour, so it is important for them to be as visible as possible. Class 3 safety vests and garments must have a minimum of 310 square inches of reflective tape that is 12.92 linear feet and 2-inches thick. Class 3 garments also provide more coverage to the arms and legs than do class 1 and class 2 safety vests.

So here is the deal, I took out my entire dash board out of my truck with plans to re-paint it. So my question is how should I go about painting the plastic moulding and what not? Also I was curious as...

they make special paint for this, contact a local automotive paint store they can sell u the paint and the cleaners you need to use to prep the plastic, do no skip any step, what follows is a detailed description of what this cleaning entails.
Use a clean rag and the soapy water to wash the rest of the dashboard. You'll need to scrub especially hard if the dashboard has Armor All™ or another type of protectant on it.

Next, rinse the dashboard off well, and dry it off with a clean rag. Before you paint the interior of your car, the areas will need to be completely dry in order for the paint to stick well to it. So, let the dashboard air dry while you apply painter's masking tape to the interior. Painter's masking tape is blue tape that peels off easily after the job is done. That's why it's recommended over regular masking tape. Painter's masking tape won't leave a sticky residue like regular tape can, too.

Tape off the areas of the dashboard you don't want to get paint on. This may include the bottom part of the windshield, the radio, gauges, the gear shift, other chrome, etc.

Before you paint hard plastic areas, you'll need to rough it up with a piece of fine sandpaper first. Use an old rag to wipe up the dust the sandpaper creates. Then, you'll need to remove the remainder of the dust with a wet, soapy rag. Rinse the area again and dry it well.

Finally, use a clean rag and some rubbing alcohol to go over the plastic pieces, and the dashboard (if it's made of plastic) one more time. The rubbing alcohol will remove any residue left from cleaning the area with the soapy water.

The tape broke. How do I get it reconnected?

is the tape outside the cassette? or inside the case itself (if inside we have to open and connect it to reel) but outside you need the paper thin masking tape 1/2 to 1 inch wide (cellophane is to thick)...now take both ends of tape..the tape on left side cut a 1/8 inch (hold in left hand cut on a diagonal toward the left)..(just FYI this is called splicing) now the right one cut it about 1/8 inch also in the same manner toward the left)..now cut a 1/2 inch of masking place on table...place the right tape on tape leaving at least half for the other part to go on....now take the scissors cut off any excess masking tape on both edges of tape...this should help get your first job at hand done....recording to dvd....have fun

Getting error "E03 unit in safeguard mode" on JVC GR-D200U video camera

The idler gear does not engage with the reel disk well.
2. Though the idler gear and reel disk are engaged with
each other, the tape is not wound because of overload
to the mechanism.
3. No FG pulse is output from the reel sensor.
4. No power is supplied to the reel sensor.
5. Tape transport operation takes place with a cassette
having no tape inside.
6. The tape slackens and no pulse is produced until the
slack is taken up and the tape comes into the norma

JVC Digital Video Camera - model GR-D290

In the case no REEL FG is produced for 4 sec-onds
or more in the capstan rotation mode af-ter
loading was complete, the mechanism mode
is shifted to STOP with the pinch roller set off.
This error is defined as [E03].
However, no REEL EMG is detected in the
SLOW/STILL mode.
1. The idler gear does not engage with the reel disk well.
2. Though the idler gear and reel disk are engaged with
each other, the tape is not wound because of over-load
to the mechanism.
3. No FG pulse is output from the reel sensor.
4. No power is supplied to the reel sensor.
5. Tape transport operation takes place with a cassette
having no tape inside.
6. The tape slackens and no pulse is produced until the
slack is taken up and the tape comes into the normal
status.

Can't get one of the new ink cartridges to work

This is a simple fix. This printer uses a LIGHT SENSOR to detect if the cartridge is installed properly. Numerous things can allow extra light to enter... your solution is this:

Get electrical tape (duct tape may be too thick) and cover the rear sides of your cartridge; along with the recessed square shaped area that is directly in the center of your cartridge. Cut the tape so that you can cover this area without impeding the shape of the cartridge (so it can still be inserted and removed easily) I have used this solution to repair this exact problem on MFC-665CW when installing a continuous ink supply (in place of the original cartridges) You can actually just tape the internal sensor and close the front cover if you want to test it without any cartridge at all (though its not a good idea to print like that as I"m not sure if it will damage the unit) Those of you wishing to only buy Black ink can attempt this if you dont care about voiding the warranty or possibly breaking the unit... just cover the other slots with electric tape.

Brother MFC 5460CN No cartridge error

The tape method worked for me on my 1960C. I put duct tape over the window in the front. If there's a place you can see ink, cover it up.
