Did you have it apart for cleaning and maybe it is not seated right? I asked a repairman, and he said most of the time it is that the needle is not inserted right, or above problem Other than that your timing may be messed up and you need a professional to look at it.

Which model old style cam type buttonhole attachment from Singer will fit on the Bernina 807 minimatic machine that is an equivalent to the singer featherweight that I can make keyhole buttonholes.

In my earlier response, you need a shank that is made for your Bernina 807 and Berninas made in that era. Only "Old Style" Bernina presser feet and adapters will fit your machine. No other brand will work, not Singer, not Janome, not Brother, nothing but Bernina Old Style. There are several Bernina old style presser feet. Look for presser feet with the number printed in black ink or presser feet that have the number stamped into the metal. Do not buy a Bernina presser foot with red numbers--will fit only newer Bernina machines.

If you want to use the Singer buttonholer attachment, it needs to be for a straight shank machine. You will need to have a Bernina shank adapter for your machine.
Bernina Presser Feet (down at the bottom of the page, click on the blue text that says "Bernina Shank Adapter" On the next page, scroll down to the last two items that indicate they are "Old Style." The first Old Style item is the shank adapter you would need to attach the Singer buttonholer attachment to your machine. (Am assuming it will work, no guarantees!) If it doesn't work, then you will probably not be able to use the Singer buttonholer with your Bernina machine.
This shank adapter would fit your machine:

If you are looking for a snap-on adapter, it needs to state that it will work with a Bernina Old Style machine, ie the old Record machines (930 Record, 830 Record, 730 Record, 707, 807 Mini, 630 Record, and 530 Record--or in other words, Berninas manufactured prior to probably 1996).

Bernina Presser Feet (down at the bottom of the page, click on the blue text that says "Bernina Shank Adapter" On the next page, scroll down to the last two items that indicate they are "Old Style." If you are looking for the snap-on, go to the very last item on the page (Old Style). This will fit your machine. Remember, if it says Old Style, it should work on your machine.

This snap-on shank will fit your machine:

This is an entire kit of snap-on feet with shank (included) that will work on your machine:

Here is a kit of snap-on feet with shank (included) as well as the buttonhole attachment you were asking about:

Although, I believe you will be able to make only straight buttonholes with this buttonhole attachment.

Hope this helps.

I found out my machine is low shank. Can I use the low shank roller presser foot #151 on my Singer 20U53 machine?

I'd put them side by side and if everything matches up then I'd think you would be able to use it. Place it on the shank and very slowly turn the handwheel to make sure the needle doesn't hit. If all looks ok then I'd make a few stitches, again very slowly.

Singer futura xl400 embroidery needle keeps breaking

The problem is being caused because the thickness of the material is not allowing the embroidery foot to land squarely on the fabric. The needle is then close to the back of the foot, and when a jump stitch is encountered, the needle hits the back of the foot and breaks. We used to suggest that people take a small wad of something and stick it under the presser foot lifter to raise it a little--not enough to trigger the sensor, but enough to raise the foot. However, that\'s difficult to do and keep in place on an XL machine.

However, a much better solution is to simply switch to a darning foot. Both can be used for embroidery, but the darning foot is spring loaded and starts out flat. Plus, it\'s much easier to get on, and much easier to get past the rim of the hoop when you\'re putting the hoop on.

One comes with your machine, but if it didn\'t, I have purchased several from eBay. They are VERY inexpensive, and my personal preference is one with a closed large round metal ring at the bottom. All Futuras, including yours, take a low-shank foot. They are very used by many machines and therefore very commonly available. I think you\'ll be very pleased with the results!

When I manually turn the wheel of my sewing machine,, it sounds like the needle is hitting something at the bottom.

Do two things- 1. Take out the needle, verify it is the right size for the machine. If it is, unscrew the needle tightenen screw ALL the way before re-inserting, making sure the needle goes as high as possible in the shank. 2. Check to make sure that the bobbin, bobbin casing, and hook (that thing that the bobbin case hooks into) are installed properly. It should be one of those two issues...

Cant raise bobbin thread and needle is clunking

Is the needle in the right way? Flat shank to the back. Also the clunking could be a blunt or bent needle, change it, clean, oil and rethread everything.

Check that the bobbin is in and rotating in the correct direction.

Then test again very slowly, if problem still exists you need to identify where the noise is coming from during the stitch formation.

If the needle is striking part of the bobbin race during stitch formation, then timing is out and needs a serviceman.

I do not kno how 2 put my needle in my sewing machine

When you look at the sewing machine needle, there is a flat side on the shank (top part of needle), this side should face away from you. The round side should face you.
On the machine, on the part where the needle goes in, there is a screw, sometimes called a thumb screw, cause it sticks out and you can use your fingers to turn it. My screw is in the shank of the machine and I need to get a mini screw driver to loosen the screw.

Originally your machine came with some tools. The mini screwdriver may not look like your mechanics screwdriver, but like a flat metal almost triangle piece.

When you insert the needle, loosen the screw, insert as far up as it goes, tighten the screw. Voila.

Singer Inspiration 4228 Automatic Threading Problems

The small hook that passes through the eye of the needle is bent or broken. If it is only bent it can be straightened with a small screw driver. If it is broken it will need to be replaced. Most dealers can get this part for you for about $5.00

Send this machine back where it came from! machine. You have described a timing problem which you can not and should not need to do.
Change the needle first and test it to be sure the needle still hits on the hook. If it does, follow the above instructions. If it no longer hits then it's possible it is not as serious as I first thought.I'm not sure if the bobbin keeps coming out or the bobbin case(the plastic part the bobbin sits in) comes out.If it is just the bobbin, insert the bobbin in the case and pull on the thread. The bobbin should turn COUNTERCLOCKWISE. If it turns the other way, turn it upside down and try it again.
If it is the bobbincase, then Remove the needle plate and take the bobbin case completely out. On this machine there is a small lever which holds the bobbin case in position. Looking down on the bobbin case the lever is located at about 11 o'clock and has a small slot in it. It is also probably spring loaded which means it is not easy to turn without a small screwdriver. Insert the screwdriver in the slot and turn it to the left. Lift out the bobbin case and Carefully examine it for any nicks, scratches or rough spots. If you find any, they will need to be removed with an emery stick and or a sharpening stone. Buff with a very fine steel wool for total smoothness.
To replace the bobbin case use the screwdriver to open and hold the lever open while you insert the case back in. The straight part of the case will be on the right and you need to place the case so that the circular part rides on the slight grove in the hook.(The metal thing it sits on). Once you have it in place you can release the lever you've been holding open . It should fit over the edge of the bobbin case and not allow it to come out. Rethread the machine and turn it by hand a few times to see that it is working properly. Good luck!!!
