Hello there:
If There's no hot or cold water Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests: Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it. You will want to check and make sure the door handle/lock is switching on. the front load unit will not fill with water with the door open. Check that the latch is engaging.

Hi my GW709 7.5 smartdrive excellence won't fill with water and won't agitate if I manually fill it , help me please

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Washing machine won't fill

This can be due to a clogging of the inlet valve as the water flow is restricted. You can remove the water line to the washer and check the flow , then check if the inlet valve works after the power is switched on the washer , If there is no flow to the drum then the inlet valve is faulty provided there is power to the valve or the main controller is faulty

Washing won't spin and i have a washing machine full of water , could you tell me how to check the filter ?

First of all you mustt drain the water that is trapped within the drum. So remove the drain pump/ valve and allow the water to flow out - make sure that you have an arrangement to collect water when the drain Hose is removed.
Now the drain pump/valve must be checked clean if there is dirt clogging. Also test the valve for proper functioning. Also check the inlet valve and filter which is on line with the water inlet which can be traced easily. Check the motor, drive , door switch and finally the control board. If after switching on there is no action , inlet filling or spining when water is full, the program controller must be faulty.

Washer keeps displaying '4E' Lack of water error

If you have pulled out and cleaned the filter at the back of the machine where the hose connects then I would check that your pump is not running during the cycle and also make sure your drain line is at least half way above your drum at its highest point, If its too low then it will drain off even if the pump is not running.

Slow water delivery into machine

Check to see if there's good water volume coming through the hoses attached to the washing machine. If there is, check to see if the screens inside the water-inlet valve are clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If they're clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, you should completely replace the valve.

Q - My washer fills slowly with water, what can I do ?
A - Two things could be your problem...
1) - sometimes the screens in the fill valve or inside the ends of the fill hose get clogged up...use a tooth brush to clean them out. Don't forget to shut off the water first before removing the hoses to check for this.
2) - The fill valve itself may not be opening fully = time for a new fill valve.

GE Washing machine cold water barely dribbles in

Yes remove the hose from where it connects to washer look inside water valve and remove plastic screen with needle nose pliers Without damaging it. Also make sure that it gets back in proper as the valve will be damaged without it.

Washer will not fill with water.

Needhelp, as long as the screens are clean on the valve inlet we have two possible things that could be wrong. One would be the fill valve itself. Someone has to check to see if the valve is getting 120V during the fill. If it is and its not filling you have a bad valve. If it's not getting 120V during fill, you have a timer issue. I'm assuming that it is not filling no matter which temps selection you are using. You are going to need to have a meter to check for this voltage...Catriver...post back
