After searching the net, I couldn't find anything on a DC700, but I did find info for a DC7000. Let me know if that is the model you have.

My hp Compaq DC7900 has 5 beeps with 5 red light flashing does this 3 times. then the fan kicks on. That's all it does. Anyone know what this is?

This is a sign of a pre-video memory error. If your DC7900 has a video graphics card, that card has probably failed or doesn't have enough power. On at least some of HP's Compaq DC7900, the video card uses a PCIe x16 slot.

There are two things to consider when you choose a new video graphics card: 1) it must fit in a slot in your case and 2) your power supply must meet the requirements of the card. The small tower format of the HP Compaq DC7900 came with a 240W power supply. Most modern video graphics cards often need more power. You may need to upgrade the power supply.

I hope this helps.

How to install riser card compaq evo

Finding a compatible graphics cards may be a daunting task if you know little about your computer's components and technical specifications. To find a video card that is compatible with your system, you'll need to uncover information about your motherboard and power supply by opening your case and peeking inside. From there, you can perform additional research and make an informed determination of the types of graphics cards compatible with your computer. If your warranty is still in place, consult your computer manufacturer or builder to obtain the information you need

Physically open your case and examine the number and types of slots on your motherboard. Unplug any cables connected to your computer prior to removing the side panel, but make a note of where your monitor connects. Remove your case's left side panel (when facing the front of the case). You may need to remove screws or to adjust latches. Please see your case or computer manual if you are unsure how to remove the side panel. Locate the current graphics card. By matching the port your monitor plugs into with the graphics card, you should be able to easily locate your video card. If you have an on-board graphics chip, the monitor will not connect with a card but with ports directly on the motherboard. Measure your case interior and the card slot. Make a note of how long the current card is. You must also measure for prospective maximum expansion card length. For example, if you measure 7.5 inches from the slot cover to the nearest obstruction (obstructions may include other slots, chips, or the processor), you will not be able to buy a card that measures 8.5 inches in length. The card you install must not affect any other components on the motherboard. Write down any brand name or model number so that you can verify the measurements by researching the card's specifications. Locate a serial number, brand name or product number for your motherboard and write it down so that you can research the motherboard and its specifications. Locate your power supply. Generally, the power supply will be in the upper-left corner of the case. Power cables connected to your drives, your motherboard and possibly your video card will run to the power cable. Make a note of the wattage, the brand name, and any model number. Perform research to verify the power supply's specs. Replace the side panel, and plug in all cables. Find a graphics card that will work with your motherboard and power supply and fit the motherboard's measurements. The card should both fit into the slot physically and be designed for the type of slot on your computer. Ensure that the card has drivers for your operating system. Hope this helps.

What video card would be compatable with a insignia computer model d300?

I would recommend any of the Nvidia or ATI video cards that come in the PCI format. Your computer only has PCI slots. These are the older slot types, so your options will be limited for brand new cards, but there's still plenty out there. As long as the slot type is PCI and the chipset is a major manufacturer, it should work with no problem. Do NOT get any video card that says "PCI Express" or "PCI-X" - they won't fit.

What pci card will fit

if your computer is a SR1620NX the support site on compaq tells you what you need http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00378480&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1127351
go down to expansion slots and it says
  • One PCI Express x16 graphics
  • Three PCI
  • One SCSI connector for PCI Extender Card for two additional PCI slots (optional)
so if you want to put a graphics card in you need a pci express card or a pci card

Hi,
You need the driver for the Graphics card that is installed in your computer. Download Belarc Adviser and install it, and run it. This will tell you lots of information about your computer.
Under Display, it will tell you the type of graphics card you have.
You need to find and download the latest driver for it.
For instance, I have an nVidia Graphics card, so I would go here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
If I had an ATI card, I would go here:
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

When you have downloaded and installed your driver, you can adjust your Resolution in the Display settings.

Hope this helps

Video Driver

The motherboard for that unit has Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE Up to 256MB (with 512MB or more system memory)

it should already be setup for you. one way to check is by the following.

Right click on your desktop------>goto properties--->goto settings----->click on advanced----->click on Adaptor

it should say nVidia GeForce 6150se I think or similar and then give a bunch of adaptor information after the adaptor type.

Onboard video is only good for the basic programs out there but your board will also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards

So either ram upgrades or video card upgrade to switch from onboard video would greatly help but if you are looking for the drivers for it hp/compaq do not have them listed on their website so you would have to do it from the restore startup when the computer starts but that basiclly will just format and re-install the whole operating system.

If you need more info please let me know and I will do my best to help with this issue.

Video driver

you cant upgrade your graphics by means of a driver, if it's a desktop pc you will have to fit a newer AGP graphics card or fit one if you only have onboard graphics, and then the relevant driver, if its a notebook, 9 times out of 10 the graphics are onboard and cannot be upgraded.
