Looked around but found very little on this machine. In the event a manual for the machine will help, you can purchase one at this URL:
http://www.sewingmanuals.com/Sewing_Machine_Manuals/New_Home.htm
it is item #60 on the list.
You might try Googling under the manufacturer's name and model to see if there is a Users Group.
Sorry I could not be of help. Paul

ZIGZAG STITCH PUCKERS MATERIAL

Most sewing machines will cause puckering when zig-zaging, especially when sewing light-weight fabric like chiffon, etc. Try a brand new needle. You can try narrowing the zig-zag so there is not such a large gap between the left & right swing. Can also try loosening the tension a bit so the thread is not pulling so tightly. Another possibility (if your machine has the capability) is to increase the presser foot pressure so there is more pressure applied between the presser foot and the feed dogs. Or, try using a layer of wash-away stabilizer or clean (unused) newsprint paper with the fabric to help give it some stability.

Machine is 30+ yrs old and tension settings .. There are 3.. Are all screwed up so stiches are not even, tight or inform...can someone help me know the normal setting and how to adjust for zigzag...

You haven't mentioned a brand or model number. Go to this YouTube page for general repairs and setting up zig zag.

But in any event, go to the manufacturer's website and go to the support page. Download the user manual, if they still have them, for your model. Settings should be located within manual.

What do you mean by "rucked up?" You'll need to be more specific. Does the machine gather or pucker the material?

I have a bernina 210 model sewing machine. I'm

#1 Use only Mettler or Gutermann thread. Coats thread is very rough and will pucker the fabric. #2 Make sure that the tensions are balanced. #3 Use the regular zig zag foot. #4 Use a new needle, universal, size 80/12. A blunted point will pucker the fabric.

Cant let any type of material go through its self or it puckers tryed every combination of tension model xl3520 brother

If your material is puckering then the thread tension (Top and Bottom) are way too tight. Loosen both.

Good Luck!

Material is puckering.i was hemming pants ,that went good;so i tried working with a very light material.threads are nor releasing, i guess, as the material is pulling together as i sew, its all puckered.

you should always use needles that are the right size and sharpness for different fabrics. any fabric store can help you with this. according to your machine the smaller the # on the needle the finer teh fabric it will sew. also using the right weight of thread is important...light weight thread for light weight fabric and heavier for thicker fabrics

Puckering material

You may need to utilize backing to correct the puckering, and/or if possible, also sew on the bias. I do not have enough information to interpret the origin/cause of the "noise". Please click on the URL below for helpful information in correcting typical stitching and machine woes....good luck my friend: http://www.fixya.com/support/t162553-underthread_going_crazy
