I have an elura 2 video camera and there is a flashing red icon on the screen- is that the battery and where do i put in a new one- can't find manual

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. The remote has stopped working so the only way I can change channels is on the actual tv


Easy way to test an infrared remote is to point your camera at it and then push a button on the remote and look for the purple color on the camera, If you don't see the color AND the batteries in the remote are new AND installed correctly, it is time for a new remote.

I have a Philips flat screen TV, Model 50PF9630A/37 i replaced some blown cap on the power supply board now the red light flashes in a sequence of 7 flashes, any assistance would be appreciated.Guy


Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. My Toshiba remote control se-r0077 sometimes works to control the DVD player and other times it doesn't. I've tried new batteries and the problem still persist s


One of the best ways to check if an infra-red remote controller is working properly is to look at it using a camera. (a webcam or phone camera will work) The camera will see the infra red radiation as visible light. If the LED lights up (on camera) consistently when buttons are pressed, then it may not be the remote at fault, but rather the receiver in the DVD player. Most of the time though, it IS the remote control at fault, and these are usually easy to get working again.

Couple of things to check are:

1) the battery terminals...
Batteries can leak and corrode the terminals in the battery compartments. Signs of this include rust, green coloured contacts, or a crystalline deposit. If you see any of this then clean the contacts using metal cleaner or some methylated spirit and cue-tips.

2) Broken wires connecting battery terminals to the circuit board...
The soldering in some remotes can be rather poor, and wires can sometimes come loose, especially if a remote has been dropped or bashed about a bit. Unscrew the remote and check everything is connected properly


3) Dirt under the buttons...
This can prevent a button from making contact with the circuit board properly. Unscrew the controller and separate the rubber button pads from the circuit board check for dirt both underneath the pads AND on the metal contacts on the circuit board. Clean as required with methylated spirit and cue-tips and then reassemble.

Resetting your Router and Set-Top Box can resolve a variety of issues such as:
  • Missing Interactive Media Guide (IMG) or On Demand menu
  • Unresponsive Set-Top Box
  • DVR recording problems
If you are having any of these issues, you may need to reset your Router and Set-Top Box. Will resetting my Set-Top Box erase the selections I have programmed into my remote?
No, all settings and selections you've entered such as device codes, favorite channels, and recent On Demand selections are saved and available after resetting your Set-Top Box.

Resetting your Router and Set-Top Box
Always reset your Router first and then check to see if that resolves the issue. Resetting your router may be all that is needed.
Important note about your router To avoid problems with your FiOS TV service, make sure your router is plugged in and turned on at all times. Even if you are not currently using the Internet, your router still needs be turned on so that FiOS TV can function properly.
To manually reset your router:
  1. Unplug the power cord to your Router for 15 seconds and then plug it back into the electrical outlet.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then check to see if this resolves the trouble. If you still have the problem, follow the steps below to reset your Set-Top Box.
To manually reset your Set-Top Box:
  1. Unplug the power cord to your Set-Top Box from the electrical outlet for 15 seconds and then plug it back in.

    Note: Don't confuse the power cord that provides electricity to your Set-Top Box with the coaxial cable that is connected to the back of your Set-Top Box. Unplugging the coaxial cable will not reset your Set-Top Box. Since many issues can occur if your coaxial cable is not securely fastened, now would be a good time to check to ensure all connections are securely connected.
  2. Wait for the time to appear on the front of the Set-Top Box, then power it on.
  3. Wait several minutes while the Interactive Media Guide updates.
  4. Check to see if this resolves the trouble. If you still have the problem, your Set-Top Box may need to be re-initialized. Contact the Fiber Solutions Customer Support for further assistance.
