Try installing windows by booting from cd, restart your computer and while its starting up press the del button (there's usually a prompt to do so on the bottom of the screen), you will be taken to a bios setup screen. In this setup you can not use the mouse so use the keyboard to navigate to the "Advanced Bios Features" option, go down to "First Boot Device" press Enter key then select CDROM, press F10 to save then exit and restart the computer with the Windows 7 disk inserted, after a bit it should prompt you to press any key to boot from disk so press any key and your windows installation should begin.

You need to go to HP.Com and download the sound drivers for your model.

The system sound card on that model is the ADI AC97 model.

CHeck on HP website for latest Vista Driver for your model.

to resole this either put in your hp computer make and model in google and search for audio driver

or go to the hp download page for sound drivers, find your model
and install it
