Normally the voice commands are only available in the "Computer generated voice" mode. If you select any other voice, the feature is disabled. Hope this helps

Tomtom 520 no sound

Reset it. If that doesn't work, you need to have it repaired or replaced. If you have had it longer then 5 years, it is past its best by date. Having said that, you say it works fine to start with, so it can't be much wrong. If the sound comes via Bluetooth, delete the entry, reboot all devices and re-pair them.

Hi I have no sound

need way more info.
Is this a new install
was it working before
are you looking for a driver
what OS are you running
are your speakers plugged into the green jack on the motherboard or a front jack
do your speakers need power
do the speakers have power
are the speakers turned on
is the volume turned up
do you have the mute clicked in your soft volume in windows
is the soft volume down in windows

We are assuming you mean the computer...if you can't speak, we can't help you.

Tomtom g0 520 no sound

Tap on the bottom left hand corner. If you touch the bottom left hand corner area where "no route planned " is shown, the volume bar pops out.Increase the volume by sliding your finger over it. If this is not workng, follow this procedure. Tap on : the main screen. Tap on : Change preferences. If the sound is turned off, you will see a green button that says, turn on sound. Tap on it. Else Tap on : Arrow. Tap on : Volume preferences. It shows an info screen. Just tap on it. On the next page that opens, increase the volume. Also select link volume to car speed as it is a good option. Tap on : test. Tap on : Done.

Can't get it to speak it gives me no spoken instructions or guiding spoken words It won't play any test of voice

Please confirm that the volume is all the way up. Tap the botom left of the screen. If its not that, then try a reset. Turn upside down, push back the cradle lock and push a pin or similar gently in to the small hole marked reset.

If that doesn't do it I suspect a hardware fault

HOW DO I TURN UP THE VOLUME

Users will continually need to quickly change the volume on a TOMTOM units, depending on the loudness of traffic noise, the radio or conversations. Although there are no external volume controls, the volume on the ONE can be easily accessed on screen by touching the bottom left corner of the map display. Once the volume controller appears you just slide your finger to increase or decrease volume. We found the audio levels a little softer on this unit and had to set the volume to around 60% or 70% in order to clearly hear it.

How can I fix it?

I had a problem with my old H.R. 520 going off and as I recall, it was volume related. There was some deal that protected blowing speakers as I recall. Are your speakers and wires good? See if it happens when its turned completely down when you turn it on. If it stays on, then I think you're on the right track. If you have small speakers, see if it does the same thing hooked up to bigger speakers. I can't remember how I solved it. Just a suggestion. Good luck
