The dryer will not heat. I have no error codes and everything else works fine. I did order a heating element assuming that was the issue but now wonder if I would've had an error code and it could be something else. thought i should ask before i tear it apart. Samsung DV337AEG/XAA

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

E1 Error on Whirlpool Duet Dryer GEW9250PL1

wow, that is a tale of woe.

Well E1 is definitely the thermistor, but you can check it with a multimeter. It may be a bad batch, or it could be the wiring. You should never replace components on guesses, fuses and elements are an easy test. The remanufactured board may also be at fault. The unscrupulous take them off machines, clean them and sell them on untested.

Hotpoint CTD80 Clothes Dryer. Shows no error codes but high heat not working. Stats seem fine?

Question edited to add Maker.
Question moved to Hotpoint.

Most dryers have 2 elements, one for low, and one for medium. High heat is both elements together. My guess is that your medium element has failed and you are only getting low heat.

Test with a multimeter or call for service.

Hi, I’m the owner of an AEG Lavatherm T59850 tumble dryer which turns on, runs and spins but doesn't heat up.

I don't believe that there is any refrigerant gas involved with this machine, but can't find any details on the heat source for it. They all work from a heating element of some sort. Have you checked the heat exchanger and filters for blockages? That is where your issue is likely to be. Also check the intake grill on the bottom right side kickplate. The way condensing dryers is very simple. Cold air is sucked into the bottom of the machine and passes over the outer surface of the heat exchanger / condenser unit. The air is then heated by an element and blown through the dryer drum and the clothes. The hot moist air is then blown through the inner fins of the heat exchanger and because the unit has been chilled at the first stage entry, the steam condenses back to water.

Dryer not heating

Thank you for your inquiry, friend!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is not heating. This could be a potential issue with your heating element, timer, or thermostat. In order to accurately check each part you would need to disassemble your dryer and test each piece for the proper continuity. This is not a simple DIY job and I would highly suggest contacting a professional technician comes out for proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt
