Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

For the last 2 days I have heard a "whirring" noise. My husband thinks the fan might be going out? The noise has gotten progressively more frequent, louder, and the noise now lasts longer, although it does stop for minutes at a time and the fridge is quiet. The fridge is 41/2 years old. We have scheduled a repair but the diagnostic alone is close to $100. Do you have any idea what a repair would cost (roughly) or if it would make more sense to buy a new (non-Samsung) fridge? Thanks!

I would change the fan instead of buying a new one. God Bless.

It makes a whirring shown like a fan slowing down all the time when driving, and caliper doesn't seem to be releasing right.

whirring noises are usually bearings here is a good test drive down the road and act like a down hill skier criss cross back and forth does noise change then it is front wheel bearings does not then it is rear differential bearings.

Upon accelleration, there is a metal 'clicking' noise from the front wheel area. It just started and has progressively gotten worse over the last couple days.

2 possibilites that i can think of. First one is if its 4wd then the axle is going bad. Second is the bearing are going bad. Easiy way to check is jack the wheel of the ground and wiggle the tire. If you have movement at the center then the bearing are going bad. This is an important one to check out. If the bearings are going bad it is possible for the tire to fall off while your driving.

Loud whirring noise going into rinse cycle. Low

Hi tuck just read your posting. Now on the low whirring noise on the start of the rinse cycle ,Is it when the machine is draining the water or filling with water. If the noise happens when the machine is draining then I think either your pump has something slowing it down or it is faulty. Please look underneath the machine to the front right and you should see a red or black fan .If you do then this is your pump.If you don't see a fan you must have the newer style of pump. Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can help you rectify this problem

Loud whirring noise that stops when freezer door is open.

It is most likely your circulation fan in the freezer. Normally the fan stops when you open the door. It is a normal operation. Check to make sure that the fan is not blocked by frozen items or that the fan doesn't have an ice build up. On some models the fans stops when you open the door and starts a few minutes later after you close the door.

Weird noise

secondand third gear but doesnt happen all the timeDo you think is the clutch?Probably going to need more information to diagnose this one. The Buell makes SO much mechanical noise when running it's hard to tell at times if it's normal or not. If it sounds like a handful of nickels in a blender it's probably OK. The only whirring I've heard in over 20k miles on my Uly is the cooling fan.,,,

Faint noise on booting.

Try this remove side cover and boot computer listen for any extra noise fan etc. also by power supply
As I think you have a bad bearing in a fan
To temp fix it
remove paper cover over center of fan and put a small and I mean small drop of light machine oil on bearing then replace paper cover.
check if this stops the noise if it does you know which fan to replace.
If it is power supply fan and if you think yourself capable remove fan and do the same to it

Loud whine gives us headaches

There are two possible things it could be, either a fan is giving the whining noise or it's the hard drive. Locate the fan on the underside and put your ear near to see if it's coming from there. If it is, the fan needs to be replaced.
If it's not the fan then it's probably the hard drive and I would not think it is going to last much longer.
