You likely didn't do a full install, which prevented a component it needs, from being installed. If you do not have the CD, you can download the drivers and software from the HP website; http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=1138373&lc=en&cc=lamerica_nsc_carib&dlc=es&submit.y=0&submit.x=5&lang=en&cc=lamerica_nsc_carib

Usually this message comes from office, you need to put the office CD in the CD rom drive, than the system will copy the missing file and the message will stop poping up.

Everytime i open the computer it reads the feature you are trying to use is on a cd rom or removable disk insert the aiosotwarenpidisk

"AIOsoftwareNPI" is included on the CD that came with your HP All In One printer. Place the HP All In One disk into the optical drive (CD / DVD ROM drive) and restart the computer. "AIOsoftwareNPI" will automatically be installed after boot.

If unable to locate the ****, go to HP's website to download the disk for your particular All In One printer.

I hope this helps. Please rate my reply - thanks!

Hi Amanda,

Sounds like you're using an old installer.

Try using the newest version from HP, it is free. Just click the link below, then click on your version of windows and then click on the full driver and software package for your printer.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=79499&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go%20â»

If this link doesn't work comment back here with your version of windows and I will be happy to provide you with a direct link to the proper file.

Cd rom has stopped working. the light is flashing as if it is working but the cd is not spinning.

Check the disk for scratches, and try other disks to make sure the problem is not unique to that one disk. If all disks fail, then double-click on My Computer, then double click on the CD-Rom drive and see if a CD will run. The "autorun" option may have been disabled, which is very noticeable if you've been used to this feature working. To re-enable autorun, right click on the cd-rom drive in My Computer, and go to device properties - recheck the autorun or autoplay option.

If none of the above resolve, then turn off your computer. Open up your computer with screwdriver. Unplug and replug the cd-rom driver. Restart computer. Test cd-rom drive again.

If it still fails, Make sure you are connected to the internet (I am assuming Windows XP - Vista may vary): Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Printers & Other Hardware --> System --> Hardware --> Device Manager --> DVD/CD Rom Drives - se if the drive has a yellow exclamation by it - if it does, then right click on the yellow exclamation, and click install drivers - windows will most likely find a solution

If all of the above fails, write back with more details, including model/manufatcurer of cd-rom drive, and model/manufatcurer of computer.
