Bad caps can look normal but can have high ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), also it can be lamps problem. You need to read my troubleshooting guide to help you narrow down the cause.

Post the pictures of the caps of the board will help also.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Polaroid hdtv tdx-03211c turns on for 10secs or so and goes blank

More than likely your t.v has bad capacitors that power up the light bulbs that light up the screen. I had the same problem with a similar Polaroid t.v. and replaced two bad capacitors and that solved the problem. Take the back off of the t.v. and look for capacitors that are bulged at the top. The capacitors have the model number on the side. I found replacement capacitors at www.digikey.com for a very low price. Here is a video that you can watch on how to replace the capacitors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCSNWi3UHf4

Bad or blown capacitors. Look on circuit board for domed, bulging or leaking capacitors. USE CAUTION!! high voltage capacitors can electrocute you. They should be properly discharged before working on circuit board

I have a mitsubishi model vs55601 when you turn power on the on little green comes on for about 1 sec then goes out i hear the ralay click sounds like can hear the hi voltage try to start then ...

This sounds like a bad capacitor in the power supply. This is a very common problem on rear projection and plasma TVs because they require a large amount of juice to start up from a powered off state. Replacing the power supply can be more than the cost of a new TV, but if you're handy with a soldering iron you can attempt to locate and replace the bad capacitors yourself.
Be sure to leave the TV unplugged for a few days before working on it to avoid electrical shock, and refer to your manual or any technical manuals you can find to locate the power supply on your particular set. (It's usually the brick with the plug coming out of it.) :)

Westinghouse LCD TV SK-32H540S, 1 year old. When I turn it on, the screen works for about 5 seconds, then goes dark; power is on - sound still works but no picture

1 swollen Capacitors / Replace
2 blown Diodes on inverter board / on some # 508 or 908
3 bad transistors in inverter bad will appear overheated powdery coat
4 replace inverter if you cannot locate problem on it
there is a safety built into the high power back light supply and that is if too much current is drawn or light is shorted it will not burn up
or hazard high volt shock to user.
capacitors and diodes driven with power transistors
look for darkened spots on the board to identify hot transistors
puffy tops and leaky bottoms of capacitors

when you turn it on does the bottom or top of the screen show image a Milli second before the other it should be evenly the lag
is the one requiring more amperage

I have a Westinghouse LCD screen model LCM19v5. The other day it stopped working. It will turn on for less than a second and then shut off. I changed all the wires and even hooked up a new LCD screen to...

Thanks for the pictures, it makes it easy to determine that these two capacitors need to be replaced. Whenever the tops of the capacitors start to bulge or the the vents actually rip open, the capacitor is bad. A normal capacitor should have a flat top.

You need to replace the capacitor with the same capacitance and at least the same if not greater voltage. These capacitors have a polarity, so when you replace them, be sure that the lead white strip with the minus sign is inserted to the negative hole on the board.

Hope this helps!

I have an lg 32lb9d that wont turn on. the green light flashes 19 times then goes solid.when it goes solid green the screen lights up ever so slightly and u can hear a slight humming sound???

You need to replace some bad capacitors on your power supply. Easy fix and you can do it yourself for less than $15 parts. I order mine from Digi-Key. Check out some videos on youtube for plasma and lcd repair.
You will need to identify which capacitors are bad on your power supply and order ones with same same ratings (micorfarads, volts, temp and actual size).
Good luck

Hello,

The problem on your monitor is a bad power supply. Because of heat buildup in LCD monitors parts called capacitors overheat and blow out. You can go to our web site at:
