1st Response (which didnt correct the problem was: It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel.

I REPLACED BOTH THE THERMAL FUSE AND THE THERMAL CUT-OFF FUSE, AND I STILL HAVE NO POWER TO THE LCD. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? ps. I DONT KNOW THE 1ST THING ABOUT AN OHM METER NOR DO I HAVE ONE.

Hello Jazz,

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)
Joe.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Also, often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Mde6800ayw dryer just stopped working

Have her turn the breaker off to the dryer, then back on.
If it is not a incoming power issue the part #21 in the diagram will need replacing.
The connecting vent will also have to be checked for obstruction of airflow.

cut and paste this link and find the thermal fuse part #21.

Maytag Neptune MDE5500AYW panel lights work but not dryer

inside the control panel is a tech sheet that has some diagnostics on it . there is a membrane button test or something to that effect. I suspect that the start/pause button is the problem and you would need to replace the console w/touchpad.about $130-140 new. there are some used ones on ebay.

I have a Maytag Neptune Elect dryer MDE9700, that won't heat. It worked fine until yesterday. A breaker kicked off, I reset the breaker and now dryer will work it just doesn't heat up. There is no error...

Your heat strip has burned out, shorted against the frame, and kicked the breaker. Take off the back, it is not hard to replace. Be sure all breakers are turned off.

Maytag Neptune Dryer not heating

Q - My electric dryer runs but will not heat, what could stop my dryer from heating?
A - Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.
A ohm meter test for these parts is here.
