That is a lamp problem / bulb problem for sure. The tube is still working fine but the backlighting has failed. Do you think you are capable of changing the bulb yourself? It is quite difficult.. if so let me know and I can try to find the part for you.

Thanks
Tim

    You have taken apart the tv and can't find the bulbs inside? It is a VS-6085 rear projection TV correct? It definitely has bulbs in there I assure you, they are pretty deep inside the TV..

    Please confirm,
    Tim

    I don't have that exact model here, I am trying to find a picture or video online. Check youtube out, there are some replace lamp rear projection tv videos on there while I keep looking here.

We have a Mitsubishi VS-50VA2 projection tv. The picture is very dim and the color is faded. Even after adjusting the brightness to the max, it is still dim. What do I need to do to fix this?

you need to clean the dust off lamps and the guns, if you don't know how. i can walk you thru it. but i would suggest having a repair shop do a full cleaning.

Good Day, Techwanab;

Look for this to be your problem: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB, OR BAD CONNECTIONS AND LEAKY CAPS IN THAT AREA.

Hope this was helpful and not too late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

Mitsubishi VS-6041- picture brightness not very bright

Hi Dawn,
The TV does have a screen control on each of the picture tubes ( there are 3 ) although I do suggest you have a qualified technician make the necessary adjustments as an improper adjustment can cause damage to the set. Should you deside to make these adjustments yourself, you'll need to remove the back ( or front in some sets) ( PRE-CAUTION, UNPLUG THE SET FROM THE WALL BEFORE PREFORMING ANY ADJUSTMENTS INSIDE THE SET ) The screen adjustments are located either on the bottom of each tube or in a group component located where the main High Voltage Wire ( large red wire from the black transformer on the deflection board ) is connected to. Look for a turn pot ( screw type adjustment ) that is marked SCREEN. When you locate it ( whether it be on each tube or in the group component ) turn it up only slightly and not to much, as excessive gain ( turning it up to much ) may cause the TV to shut down. When you have the proper brightness ( when it looks good to you ) close the set up and enjoy the renewed picture. Good luck and I do hope this has helped in some way

Screen too dark even with all brightness settings set to max

The picture is very dark it is mostly due to 1 power supply output is low. 2 voltage on crt g2 pin is low. 3 video output supply is low. 4 some components in luminance section might be defective or loose. 5 finally crt getting weak is set is old. good luck
