Here is the Dell service manual page where it shows the disassembling of the Dell 1558.
You will have to remove the DVD module to eject the DVD
Procedural steps are on this page site.

On the DELL Studio 1558 there is an eject button, top row of keyboard, 4th button in from the right side. Its an orange button with an up arrow on it. Press and hold for a few seconds and the CD/DVD will pop out.

Thank you! On the model I'm working on it's the 8h key, top row of keyboard coming in from the right. It worked while the machine was in boot up mode. POS

Dell cd drive door won't open

CD/DVD Drive Tray problems
There are two ways to open the CD/DVD drive door if the button just below the drive tray does not work.
Go to My Computer and right click on the drive and click on Eject.
If this does not work then you can manually open the CD/DVD drive tray by -
Straighten a paper clip and gently insert it into a tiny hole below the drive tray next to the Eject button. Push the paper clip gently until the drive tray pops out, then pull the tray until it is fully out, then you can remove the CD/DVD disc.
If you still having problem opening with the Eject button, then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and needs replacing.

You can eject cd's by right clicking on Computer (from your Start Menu) then right click on the drive you'd like to eject. There should be an option to do so.

How do I eject a disk from my dell model 1737 studio lap top(window vista) . It made noise are clicking sound when it went in.

Hello Reg,

The CD/DVD rom is tray type then use a pin to eject the tray. There is small hole in front of tray plate.

Insert the pin in the small home and press smoothly and the tray will eject .

If the CD/DVD rom is different type then use long steel V shape clip to pull the disc.

Where do I find the eject key to eject a cd from my Dell studio laptop?

Hi,

There should be a button on the DVD/CD drive itself, just push that small button and the tray should eject.
If you can't fine the button double click on "Computer" or "My Computer" highlight the DVD/CD in the list, right click on the DVD/CD and select "eject" from the list.
The tray should now eject.

CD Drive

Studio systems does not have any tray because it uses a slot. Theres no mechanical eject button. You may eject it using the Fn+F10 key on your keyboard.

Ejecting cd dell studio 17

It's very annoying they don't tell you how to do this. I looked here for the solution, then found it myself.

You have to depress the blue Fn key and simultaneously depress F10. Notice that that key has a blue "eject" symbol on it.
