The best way I find it is to use a screen wiper. If you dont have one you can try to use still water and make a paper towel (kitchen towel) humid.. Do not make it to wet that would cause drops to fall on the screen and then with a dry one clean it over.
If you find your screen is not clean you can use steam from your own mouth.. like you would be cleaning you own eye glasses. I find it quite useful. Then with a dry paper towel clean it in circular movement.
Hope this helps

New laptop touch screen erratic after cleaning

Sounds like static to me. was the laptop off when you cleaned the screen? Remove battery for a little bit use a paper towel or tissue to wipe screen down. Replace battery turn back on and calibrate screen. I hate using screen wipes. I just use small amount of water on "imitation chamois" cloth. They don't seem to create static. Hope this helps.

Laptop screen cleaning

<span>The screen is the most expensive component of your laptop. Adequate care must be taken while choosing the cleaning spray. Harsh sprays could turn the screen yellow, and may even cause cracking. Use plain water or vinegar to clean the screen</span>

How To Clean Laptop Screen With Household Products?

<p><b>Cloth</b> - Only use a 100%-cotton cloth that is soft and absorbent, either an old T-shirt, sock, or Turkish towel. Make sure you're not using a cotton/polyester blend that contains stiff filaments which can scratch an LCD's surface.<br /> <p><b>Note:</b> Paper towel or facial tissue should never be used because they contain wood fibers, also hazardous to LCDs, and definitely are not how to clean a laptop screen. Also remember to never use a dry cloth on your LCD monitor. Dust particles moved around with even the softest cloth could create scratches.<br /> <p><b>Liquid</b> - The best way to get a really clean laptop screen is to use isopropyl alcohol, containing 91% pure alcohol, with 9% de-ionized water, readily available at any drugstore or supermarket. It's perfectly safe for use on electronic equipment and LCD screens because it evaporates quickly and does not leave a residue. The lesser strength isopropyl alcohol 70% is used primarily for massage and muscle pain.<br /> <p>A 1:1 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol 91% can be used to clean a laptop screen that is not heavily dusty or soiled with greasy fingerprints. Vinegar and distilled water in a 1:1 solution can also be used for light cleaning.<br /> <p>Certain household liquids should never be used on LCD's. These include ammonia and tap or mineral water, which leave permanent white spots and streaks. Household window cleaners should be avoided because they might contain ammonia, or other harmful chemicals which also can cause irreparable damage.<br /> <p>Another caution is to never spray a solution directly onto an LCD. Always spray the liquid on a cloth, only enough to moisten it slightly, and then apply to the screen in gentle, counter-clockwise motions.<br /> <p><b>How To Clean Laptop Screen With Special Cleaners?</b><br /> <p><b>Kits</b> - Micro-fiber cloths and anti-static solutions are packaged together and sold at office supply or electronics stores. The special solution leaves a slight film that protects a clean laptop screen, repels dust and smudges, and keeps it clean longer. The liquid should be sprayed onto the cloth, which only needs to be slightly wet, not dripping, when applied to the screen. There's a slight disadvantage to these kits. Certain solutions cause streaking, so it's best to do a little research before investing in this method.<br /> <p><b>Micro-fiber</b> cloths can be purchased separately and used with isopropyl alcohol 91%, and/or distilled water. Whether using the complete kit or the cloths alone, make sure the packaging designates the product is ''safe for laptops and LCD screens."<br /> <p><b>Anti-Static Cloths</b> - Many computer manufacturers, when asked how to clean a laptop screen, recommend anti-static cloths made specifically for cleaning without liquid of any kind. These cloths are formulated for advanced optical technology and are considered the best way to clean, polish and protect a laptop screen. Even greasy fingerprints can be buffed off using these cloths, readily available at electronics or office supply stores.<br /> <p>Similar cloths are made for cleaning camera or eyeglass lenses, and these can be found at any drugstore, optometrist or camera shop. I was just wondering how to clean a samsung rv510 laptop screen without damaging it? i dont have any special cleaning stuff.

Hi x_20_kelly_0,

For cleaning laptop/mobile phone screens all you need is an extra soft cloth which would not have result in any scratches on your screen , when you rub the cloth on the screen for cleaning it.

Now you would be wondering as to where can you get such cloth.

I would give you a hint.

Try buying a scratch guard for mobile phone and you would get a small cloth with it for free , you can use that cloth to clean your laptop screen and you can see the result for yourself, your screen would look as if it's all new again.

Hope this helps..:) Your feed back would be appreciated.

In my apple laptop,, lots of dust particals seems on the screen. how to clean scrren of laptop ???

  1. Spray the screen with an LCD cleaner for Flat Panel Monitors and Notebooks. These are found in a computer store and do not contain alcohol or ammonia which are found in most commercial glass cleaners. The products are advertised to cut through finger prints and other hard to clean residues. Follow the manufacturer's directions on the package for best results.
  2. Wet a towel lightly with water and wipe the screen down. Be gentle so you don't damage the screen.
  3. Clean the screen with a water-soap mixture. Wet a towel with water and add a small amount of soft liquid soap. Wipe down the screen. Use a second water-only towel to remove any left over soap residue.
  4. Clean with hexane. Hexane is a chemical made from oil and when mixed with solvents is used in a variety of mediums. One use is for cleaning. It is colorless yet has a strong smell. Use with caution.
  5. Clean the laptop screen with Petroleum Benzine. Petroleum Benzine is another colorless substance that is highly flammable. It has a potent smell, but is often used to clean laptop screens.
  6. Ask the computer experts at your local computer center what to do if none of these steps are working. Places like Best Buy's Geek Squad can answer any further questions you may have to clean your laptop's screen.

Black water flow mark on monitor screen of the Lenovo Laptop 3000 C100 series

You would have to disassemble the screen in order to clean it. There are layers in the front of the screen, what you see is where the liquid got in between the layers. Screens can be taken apart, but it's not recommended.
