Probably needs to have the bottom bracket rebuilt, new bearings etc. You can get a whole new set but you need the crank tools, so it may be cheaper to have it done for you. Tools are not cheap and you do not use them very often unless you are in business.

What is causing a creaking, squeaky noise to come from the right pedal on my sc5?

Your transmission chain and reduction pulley, and or step chain need to be checked.

It could just be the transmission chain is on just a little too tight, causing the creaking or that the step chain/s just need a little grease on them (which is likely the culprit to any creaking).

If you find you need need any further assistance we would be happy to help you out :) by chat at www.sportsmith.net or by phone at 888-713-2880

Radio flyer 4 in 1 trike

Same thing happens today with the bike Radio Flyer Trike 4 in 1. I just opened the red adjustable hub, and found one spring detached, and both springs that control the 2-pawl system of ratchet system very loose. I tensioned both springs but it worked for one day only. Called customer service, provided all the necessary information and they promised a new front wheel.
In 3 business days a received, a brand new front wheel with pedals and fork. The pedals are fixed on wheel, and is the best solution from radio Flyer for a Kid who is grown with the bike from 18 months to 36 month, and now at age 3 rides the lovely Radio Flyer like a dare devil. Thank you Radio Flyer.
Having a strong mechanical background, I opened system, both sides of the wheel. To dissemble and repair, I had to remove one pedal on the side of the big white hub. What I found inside was a Ratchet wheel, with rounded teeth, and 2 Pawls totally worn out.
I fixed drilling 4 holes all the way through metallic plate, ratchet wheel, and the hub of the wheel. Inside the hub cavity, I used 4 washers and nuts to secure tight all 4, 3/32 stainless steel screws.
My grandson is very happy and more confident, because now he can move the bike forward, and backwards, and the most important, now he can use the pedals of the front wheel to stop the bike. Which it was a safety flaw by original design of this bike, but solved now by Radio Flyer. The new wheel Red Hub has 2 Positions. 1 PULL TO COAST. 2 PUSH TO PEDAL.

2001 santa fe creaking noise when turning

1- front wheel bearing hub loose or loose axle nut
2- front shock(s)
3- ball joint(S)
4- lower control arm bushing(s)
all of these things can be checked by a professional in about 15 minutes and should be relatively painless financially

Hi Mathew,
Did you find a solution ? I have the same problem now : the hub is lose and the pedals keep moving between stage 2 and 3. Engaged/disengaged. Very distressing for a toddler learning how to use the pedals on his own !

Thanks !

Have a 1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible - makes a crackling-creaking, sometimes thumping sound, when turning, slowing or stopping. Mechanics even described it as sounding like someone walking on creaking...

Check the front shocks are at the top as a limiter that is poroplast and that wears out and gives you a blow or sound when you turn or when you run the streets desniveladas. Thanks
