Make sure you have it set for keyboard 1. It also could be a broken printwheel. Lawrence

If the printwheel doesn't have bent spokes or you are in a language or KBII mode the printwheel homing pawl is likely broken. You need a tech.

How to you set a Brother GX-6750 typewriter to double strike each character?

It's called BOLD on that machine.

Press and hold down ALT key and Press RELOC/BS ½ (if you look it says BOLD above the key) You will hear 2 beeps

To cancel bold type [ALT] + [BOLD] again

Key strokes

Hi

I suspect that the key with and asterix (with a circle) around it is stuck (or the electrical mechanism is stuck) - or similar key with similar function.
the characters appearing - do these relate to 'the key in question, but as a special character ??
I have the manual for the typewriter, but there is nothing immendiate to explain your problem.
Feel free to respond to this with an email address, and I will gladly forward it to you.

Brother GX6750 typewriter correcting on wrong line

It sound like either the operator is turning the roller (platen) to see where you should correct..or the linespace mechanism is turning the roller from the line of type.Perhaps the detent (by the line space selector lever is set to 0 instead of 1, 1 1/2 or 2

The line of type is important that is stays and not drifts. Tighten the platen knob if the screw in..right to tighten left to loosen.
Hope this helps
