The unit's video processor has failed... it is a basket-case as you'd say :). Unfortunately it is major hardware failure and can't be easily fixed. To repair it will cost as much as a new one :(.

I'm so sorry about the bad news.

    Unfortunately no, it's completely a different processor and it's attached in such a way that it really can't be replaced.

    Don't worry I am the same way lol, I would just buy a used one on ebay if I were you... you can find a killer deal if you look around for a while, probably one for less than $20 shipped.

How to connect sanyo dvd and vcr combo player DVW-6100 to older tv

On older tv sets there are limited inputs...one for video and one for audio..
Find the white output hole for video on the back and run the cable to the set, and as for the audio there will be 2 red output holes (left and right on your dvd/vcr combo unit) this will use a special cable you can buy at radio shack that converts the left and right to just one output(it's like a "y" looking chord. it will still work if you just use one audio chord "out" from the dvd/,vcr unit but you will be hearing only one side of the "Stereo"
plug these into the back of your old set the white is for video and the red is for audio.

I have a sharp tv with the volume at its highest but i can't hear anything

Hello
Check its speaker first. If voice coil of the speaker or tis cone paper has damaged, speaker will produce a dull low sound output. If the speaker is found OK, check the audio output section of the unit. This section circuits can be located inside the TV circuit board. look for any loose or bad soldering terminals at the audio output IC. It is best to resolder all the suspected solder points by applying a little more solder, withut making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. If this also does not help you, replace the audio output IC. It is damaged. OK.

I got a new TV, plugged everything in, the dvd/vcr player is working but it's in black and white. I've tried all of the plug ins in the back of it. . . still black and white. Getting a little frustrated...

Check your TV to make sure it is set to the correct video system for your country (e.g. PAL); as well as the 'TV system' output of your DVD/VCR combo - make sure these both match. Chances are either one is set to NTSC 3.58 which will produce black &white - if your TV is multistandard (PAL/NTSC) then set its system to AUTO, otherwise set it to the relevant system to match the combo. The question is, do other video sources connected as well as the TV tuner produce colour? If so, it is a system mismatch between devices. If not, there is possibly a chroma decoder fault inside your TV, which if under warranty won't cost you parts or labour, but this too can produce 'no colour'.

However I strongly suggest that you go into the menus of both TV and combo, to be sure they are both set to the same system (PAL or NTSC) - no mismatches before considering any further courses of action.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Unfortunately, size limitation of what could be attached prevents posting a connection diagram. Still, proposed connection scheme:
  • 4250HDC's HDMI to Panasonic's HDMI 1 or 2;
  • 4250HDC's VIDEO OUT to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 VIDEO;
  • 4250HDC's AUDIO OUT to 2 pcs of RCA Splitters (shown below);
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to GoVideo's LINE IN 1 R-AUDIO-L;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's LD/TV L & R;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT VIDEO to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 VIDEO;
  • GoVideo's LINE OUT R-AUDIO-L to 2 more RCA Splitters;
  • 1 pair from the 2 splitters to Panasonic's VIDEO IN 1 L-AUDIO-R;
  • the other pair to Yamaha's VCR 1 IN L & R;
  • to watch cable TV in HD quality, set Panasonic to HDMI 1 or 2 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 3 (or 4), then OK;
  • to hear cable TV programs on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to LD/TV;
  • to watch DVD or VHS, set Panasonic to Video 1 by pressing Panasonic remote's INPUT button, then 6, then OK;
  • to hear DVD or VHS on Yamaha's speakers, set Yamaha to VCR 1;
  • to record cable TV programs, press GoVideo remote's TV VIEW button a couple of times to cycle through the signal sources or until Line 1 is displayed.

The use of the splitter shown below would effectively double the AUDIO OUT of the cable box and the DVD/VCR combo to feed both the TV and the stereo. Additionally, this would allow use of the cable box and/or the DVD/VCR combo with or without the Yamaha.

How do i/can i record tv to a DVD ]

If your using RCA cables (thats the red, white & yellow leads) you need run yellow RCA from the 'VIDEO (or) TV OUTPUT' at the back of your tv, to the 'VIDEO (or) TV INPUT' in the back of your DVD/VCR combo unit, & do the same with the red & white 'AUDIO' leads only run them from AUDIO OUTPUT(tv) to AUDIO INPUT(dvdrecorder). Now set the mode of the dvd recorder to TV IN or AUX IN. Now it should record whatever you see on the tv screen. But if your tv has an S VIDEO OUTPUT option, using an S VIDEO cable would be much easier & produces a better copy! Hope this helps!

I want to record a dvd from my tv/dvd/vcr combo to an external vcr. i'm not trying to break any laws, it's only for my babygirls personal enjoyment. please tell me how the wires should be

as long as you're not breaking any laws you can connect the video/audio output of your combo unit to the video/audio input of your vcr using audio/video rca cables where the yellow plug goes to the video input/output and the red plug to the right audio and the white to the left audio input/output.

Connecting dvd/vcr combo with tv and digital cable box.

You trying to put the DVD/VCR combo between the cable box and the TV? OK, cable out goes to vcr in, vcr out goes to tv, I think you got that. Now there should be a tv/vcr button on the vcr/dvd, you need to press that when the unit is on. Also, make sure you are on the correct input on both the vcr and the tv, usually video 1 or AUX and choose line in or L1 on the vcr/dvd. If the tv/vcr button is toggled, itll completely bypass the vcr/dvd player.

Hooking up a DVD player to a Quasar TV/VCR Combo

Hi,

Yes, for a workaround. The adapter would be 2 RCA female to 1 RCA male. You have to connect both the red and white to the female RCAs and use the male to connect to the TV's Audio INput. The yellow goes to the video. There should be no negative technical effect other than lost of stereo quality. The audio output of the DVD is line level and could normally tolerate this condition.

The correct method is to use a simple line level audio mixer and mix the L& R audio signal to produce a mono signal or to use a stereo amplifier for the sound output.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
