Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

We have a DECT 122 - 3 hand set and base station. We have difficulty in obtaining a dial tone and unit screen on unit 1 displays the word "SEARCHING" on it. On the base station unit, the screen has the word "WARNING" flashing in and out all the time. Can you assist. Thank you Shirley

    Hi! Lee,

First of all let me set the scene, you are dealing with a mature 70 plus year lady, who little or no experience or schooling in all this high tech, IT world we are now forced to be a part of.

I have removed the batteries from the three phones and left them out for over an hour, on replacing the batteries, we are now faced with two handsets still showing "SEARCHING" on the screen and the third hand set, is blank with no life on the screen.

On the two handsets, which are showing SEARCHINg they also have the two arrows, one facing UP and the other facing Down, which details on page 5, that this means there are other options, but does not give any other action to take.

You also mention in your reply, about an advanced MENU but I cannot find any wording in the manual about advanced MENU.

Can you suggest what other action I can take.

It was nice to get your reply back so quickly.

    Kind regards

    Shirley

Hello Haggis,

This problem is with the batteries try removing them and let the phones sit for a little while... once you have done that put bats. back in and place on charger, if your still getting the error message do a reset under the advanced menu. If none of the above soultions work for you please contact me at fixya@whypayforhelp.org and i would be happy to get some more details from you and see if we can figure this out

that seems to be the only solution available, if that does not work the phones and the base unit must be returned to the manufacturer for warranty claim

I not have manual for Uniden dect 6 cordless phone on my phone I can't get any dial tone,I think I pressed a button on the phone either mute, intercom or redial, how to reset phone

If you have no dial tone the problem is most likely the base station has failed, nothing you can do will kill the dial tone (no button you pushed etc.) except a failed base station.

I have charged the base and the two hand sets for 48 hrs. This is a new unit. No dial tone/communication to any unit.

1st-check the intercom function of the units. No intercom recheck the battery connections ,look for a clear tape on them & remove. Recharge batteries.2nd- Intercom OK. Check base connection to wall phone jack. Interconnect phone cable may be bad. Good luck. Have a nice day.

Hi, Bruce Kelly I have a Uniden DECT1480-3 That the screens on all hand set's say's SEARCHING. I can not get a dial tone so I am unable to make a call or recieve a call. Their is no dial tone and all of...

All of the handsets appear to have lost their
registration to the base and will need to
be first de-registered then re-registered.
It may be necessary to do this in three stages.
First be sure that all of the handset batteries
are fully charged.
1.
Clear one of the handsets of its registration:
hold down both the [END] and [#] keys
at the same time until the display shows the
SYSTEM RESET menu.
Since the handset is not recognized by its
base, select "Base Not Available".
Confirm the choice by selecting "Yes".
This handset will now display
"Handset Not Registered"
--
2.
With "...Not Registered" displayed, place
the handset into the base unit cradle.
The handset should now dieplay
"Handset Registering"
After ~30 seconds the display should show
"Registration Complete" and will have a
handset unit number.
If the unit shows "Handset 1" (doubtful)
then just repeat steps 1 & 2 above for each
additional handset in turn. This can also be
the route if you do not care what the numbers
are and do not exceed the maximum count
for your system ( some are 4, 5, or even 12 ).
If the handset is a number other than 1 you
may want to clear the base & re-register
all of the handsets:
3.
Using the now-registered and working handset
(number x), press both the [END] and [#] keys at the same time until the display shows the
SYSTEM RESET menu.
This time, choose "Deregister HS" and the
System Reset Menu will prompt you to
select from the list of registered handsets
which one you want to deregister: choose
one that is NOT the one you have working.
Cycle around deleting them all until only the
one that is working is left: select that one and
the system will be ready to start re-registering
all handsets again from Handset #1.
Start at process (1) above, then (2).
Good Luck!!

Phone not working

Hi Pam,
Try these..1...remove your telephone line from base unit and fix it into a working land phone and check whether is it having normal dial tone.If it's having engage tone(beep beep...)remove paralleled phones and re connect to cordless base unit.
2.If line is ok (normal dial tone with full volume) & still display indicates line is busy, your main base unit must be having faulty components inside.Commonly these defects happen in thundering or surges through telephone lines. You have to take full set to a repair shop.

PROBLEM WITH THE BASE GIGASET A120

Thank you for these instructions. I have Siemens geigaset A120 with three handsets and one of the handsets stopped working about a year ago and my previous tries att registering it at the base station had failed and I was about to give up and buy a new set for 80 Euro, but I decided to give i one more try at registering and it worked the third time around. So do not give up. When one your hand sets stops working (no dial tone and can not call from it) try re registering as described above.

Press the menu button then scroll using the up/down button in the center of the handset to find ADVANCED SET in the screen. Press the menu button and the up/down button to select REGISTRATION in the screen. Press the menu button and the up/down button to choose the base station(the registered base station will be marked with an asterisk at the right in the screen). Press the menu button and dial the 4 digit master PIN when prompted(default master PIN is 0000). Press the page button(lower right) on the base unit for at least three seconds until there is a confirmation tone. Press the menu button to validate the PIN code. In the screen WAITING will be displayed. A confirmation tone is heard when the registration is successful. I have included a link to download the manual.
