Power On Issue

Hi, i am not able to power on at all, i thought it was a charge problem, so connected it to the USB of my computer, however, it still does'nt power on..... Please Help!!!!!!!!

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to solve your problem. So you have connected your Nanomax iPod to the computer and it's not charging like it's supposed to, and you want to know how you should charge it properly? There are two ways you can charge the battery - charging via your Dock Connector to USB Cable, or the Apple USB Power Adapter (which is sold separately). Here are the step by step instructions to charging your and Nanomax.

Using the Dock Connector to USB Cable
  1. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, plug the dock connector end to your iPod and plug the USB end to your computer. Make sure the computer you are using has a USB 2.0 port (check your computer's technical specifications to see if it's USB 2.0 certified). Most USB ports on the keyboards of laptops do not provide enough power to perform charging activities. If you have a Docking Station, plug the docking connector into the station and placed the iPod in the station as well.
  2. Make sure your computer is fully awake and not asleep (meaning in sleep mode).
  3. A fully charged battery takes 3 hours to complete. An 80% charged battery takes an hour and 30 minutes. The battery is charging when it shows the charging icon (a battery not fully shaded in green, with a lightning bolt).The battery is done charging when the "fully charged" icon shows (a green-shaded battery with a 2-prong plug showing).
  4. When you are done, disconnect the cable from your computer.
Using the Apple USB Power Adapter
  1. Connect the Alternating Current (AC) Plug Adapter with the power adapter (if connected already, skip this step).
  2. Using your Dock Connector to USB Cable, connect the dock connector end to your iPod and the USB end to the power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a polarized wall outlet or surge protector outlet.
I think you connected everything correctly, but the USB port on your computer did not have enough power to charge your battery. If that's the case, you will have to find a computer that has a USB 2.0 port on it (like a desktop PC or MAC, or a car adapter charging device) and connect to it, or use the USB Power Adapter (sold seperately). How do I re charge battery with electrical plug


To charge the battery using your computer:
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer using the included iPod shuffle Dock. The computer must be turned on and not in sleep mode (some models of Macintosh can charge iPod shuffle while in sleep mode). When the battery is charging, the status light on iPod shuffle is orange. When the battery is fully charged, the status light turns green.
If you don't see the status light, iPod shuffle might not be connected to a high-power USB port. Try another USB port on your computer.

To charge the battery using an iPod USB Power Adapter If you do not have then you have to buy the same from Apple Store) 1 Connect the AC plug adapter to the power adapter (they might already be connected). 2 Plug the USB connector of the iPod shuffle Dock into the power adapter. 3 Plug the power adapter into a working electrical outlet. 4 Put iPod shuffle in the dock. You can disconnect and use iPod shuffle before it is fully charged.

Hi Suresh,

I believe this may be a charging issue with your iPod. You may need to check USB port that you are currently connecting the iPod to on your computer.

I would in fact recommend you connect your iPod to another USB port and be sure that it is being connected to the USB port that is power through the USB bus on your motherboard, which means you should not be attempting to charge this iPod on a keyboard that has a few USB ports, because these are not powerful enough to provide a solid charge for your iPod.

What I would recommend you do, turn your iPod off and then connect the iPod to another USB port on your computer, as I suggested earlier and test it by allowing it to charge for approximately 2 hours, unattended.

Try this and let me know if this may be the issue. If this does not work, reply back as you can and let me know. I am always glad to assist.

try getting a usb wall plug in and charging it that way you computer may not be able to supply enough power either that or you ipod is deffective and has a power supply issue if this is the case i recomend either getting a new one or getting it fixed

I am not sure if this is gonna work but, since you've tried all other steps why dont we give this a try too...LOL :-)

To troubleshoot this issue, try one or more of the following methods in the order in which they are listed:
  1. Let your Zune device charge for 30 minutes, then disconnect and reconnect the cable to turn on the player. It can take up to 3 hours to fully charge.
  2. Connect the Zune device to a different USB port on the computer. Use a USB port on the back of the computer. Do not use a USB hub.
  3. Use another supported high power source, such as an Xbox 360 console, a Zune AC Adapter, a Zune Car Charger, or a Zune FM Transmitter/Charger.

    Note These devices are sold separately.
  4. If you are connecting your Zune device to a mobile computer, make sure that the mobile computer is plugged in and is not running on battery power. Many mobile computers are configured to conserve power when they are running on battery power to extend battery life. This behavior may affect Zune device charging.
  5. If the Zune device is charging slowly, be aware that, for optimal charging, the Zune device requires at least 500 milliamps (mA) of power. Frequently, USB ports that are located on the front of a computer and on some USB hubs are low-power, 100-mA ports. Typically, the high-power, 500-mA USB ports are on the back of the computer. My ipod will not charge on the docking station

Ipod won't charge


It means the hard drive is crashing. If it's clicking it means there is a problem with the hard drive. Try restoring your ipod or reformatting it.

Reset To reset your iPod:
  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  • 2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. 5rs_reset_clickwheel.png
    Tip:
    • If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
    • If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

iPod's battery doesn't charge Several things could keep your iPod's battery from charging. The major causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one to see if it's what's keeping your battery from charging.

There are too many devices in the FireWire chain Your computer can provide power to FireWire devices that don't have their own power sources, such as hard drives and cameras. If there are too many of these kinds of devices connected to your computer, iPod may not be recognized.
  1. Disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire port(s).
  2. Connect iPod to the computer's FireWire port using the FireWire cable that came with iPod.
If this resolves the issue, consider purchasing a powered FireWire hub to connect your nonpowered devices to. These hubs are available from the Apple Store.
iPod is locked up If iPod is locked up it will not charge, reset iPod. When you reset iPod all your songs and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Tip: iPod will not wake automatically if you connect to a 4-pin FireWire port. Press the Select button (center of wheel) to wake iPod.
Faulty cable If something is wrong with the FireWire or USB cable that came with iPod, it may not supply any power to charge the battery. Note: Only iPod models with a Click Wheel can get power from a high-powered USB port using the supplied cable (includes iPod mini, iPod (Click Wheel), iPod photo, iPod with color display, iPod nano, and Fifth Generation iPod).
  1. Make sure you are using the cable that came with iPod. Some third-party cables may not work properly with iPod.
  2. Make sure nothing is in or blocking your computer's FireWire or USB ports.
  3. Check the connections to make sure the cable is completely plugged in.
  4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB cable if available.
If this resolves the issue your FireWire or USB cable needs to be replaced. You can arrange for replacement at the iPod Service Website.
