P4vm800m7 motherboard 2.66 ghz processor and 500gb hard disk how much ram required

rsadhashiva,

How much RAM is required is mostly based on what operating system you plan on running, as well as what programs you are using.

The average computer has between 2 to 4 GB (Gigabytes) of RAM, though it isn't unheard of for some higher-end systems to have 8 GB or more.

Hope this helps.

Hard disk and ram are totally different. You can put whatever sixze hard drive you want to on your system. Just jumper it as the slave drive. As for the RAM, go to tigerdirect.com and use their ram calculator for your SPECIFIC computer.

ASUS P4S533 mother board not supporting full 160 gb

This is happing becuase of your motherboards BIOS !
Really, this happened to me too. You see, our motherboards which are very old cant support above 80 and so on. This is beacuse of the BIOS. You will need to update your BIOS inorder to give new features.

Try go to the Asus home page and download the latest driver for your motherboard. Then install it in your motherboard's BIOS. There is intructions for this in the Asus's home page.

New motherboard will not boot

It appears that you are aware of Motherboard jumpers.

1. Reset BIOS settings by CMOS Clear jumper ( Location of jumber is given on the sticker / manual of motherboard )

2. Try updating BIOS of your motherboard from the following link :
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Filter_Results.aspx?strOSs=All&strTypes=All&ProductID=2838&lang=eng&OSFullName=All%20Operating%20Systems

3. Plug only Optical Driver / Hard disk at a time and check.

4. Contact your vendor and get the motherboard replaced.
