Look on the keyboard and look for a little antenna icon.... that should fix your problem otherwise take a pic of your keyboard and all sides of your laptop and e-mail them to me at fixya@whypayforhelp.org

My Toshiba satellite A305 model wireless not detecting any networks

First be sure your wireless is turned on. This is done either by a switch on the front or side of the computer or by a combo keystroke of Fn and one of the special function keys that has a picture of an antenna on it.
If you are sure your wireless is on, then make sure that there are wireless networks to detect. If you have the wireless router be sure that the wireless function is turned on and the SSID is being broadcasted.

How do i turn on the wirelless antena on a aspire one D260?

Check whether there is a wireless button just below the edge of the computer.
If its not there, Check on the function keys(F1 to F12) whether u see a wireless icon like an antenna or a satellite.
If u get that, hold down the Fn key and press that function key.
Now your wireless will be activated.

How to enable wireless connection . Wireless reciver is working network connection was working over wireless . It appears that reciever is switched off but I cannot find how to turn it on

Is this a desktop or a laptop?

If it's a laptop, most laptops have an on/off switch for the wireless. Depending on the brand and model, it could be in one of several places.

So, not knowing which model you have, let me recommend that you look for an icon that looks like a radio antenna. The icon should be on one of the keyboard buttons.

If the icon is on a Function key (F1, F2, etc), then all you need to do is press <Fn> and the function button with the icon. Press them both at the same time.
Then, your wireless should be on.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Either an Function Key (Press Fn on the bottom right and then press the corresponding Fkey on the top- it should have a sysmbol of an antenna - or there is a switch that needs to be pushed to the left or right on the side or front panel of the laptop- should be a blue light if it is on.

Can not connect to wifi due to wireless switch

I assume you have a laptop or notebook. If you look closely at your keyboard, you'll notice a couple of keys next to the spacebar, usually on both sides, that have something like "Func" printed in blue or another color.
Now, if you look at the rest of the keys on your notebook, you will see that some have two
functions: the desired character key, and another, in the same color as that special
function key.
If you now look at the topmost row of keys, or the 'function" PF keys, it's likely that
they too have a second function, depicted by a small icon in the same color. The icon
you're looking for should look like a radiating antenna, and it may have on it (or elsewhere in the notebook) a small (usually blue) LED that comes on that comes on when WiFi is turned on.
The combo key action you refer to means that you should press the special function key next
to the spacebar first, and then the key that has the icon, to toggle WiFi on or off.
In other cases, there's a recessed button along the edge, either on a corner, or on the sides of the notebook, with a similar icon depicting an antenna of some sort, and it usually has an LED that comes on to indicate WiFi is active.
If all fails, your user's manual is the best source of information to find the key/key combination you need, since not all notebooks/laptops have these keys/buttons in the same place.
Good luck!

I have wireless internet at my house but i cant get a signal from my laptop

Most laptops have a small switch or a function key option to disable the wireless radio. Try looking around the edges of the laptop for the switch usually next to the wireless antenna symbol.

Have a new Satellite P305-S8812 notebook and cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. N Rounter just installed. Computer has B/G wireless technology. Do I need an adapter for the notebook to connect?

nope there is no need for any adapters

but all you need is to turn on the wireless adapter on your laptop and that would be either a button on the sides to turn on and off the wireless adapter or its a key (function key) on your keyboard (its always with an antenna shape and blue colored) if u have that key then click and hold the (Fn blue colored key) and the (antenna blue colored key) and release both that should turn on the wireless adapter.

and notice that with the new routers there is a security key that is already set up in the router (it should be in the back of the router and mostly 10 digits).

that should be all my friend

cheers

Is there a buttom that i have to press to go wireless on my laptop. i am suppose to have wireless internet but when i disconnect the wires from my laptop i cannot get the internet.

There could be an actual switch to turn it ON/OFF or it could be a key combination, like <Fn> <F2> or something like that. Check the keys for picture of an antenna or on the side of laptop.
