I think that I would get an electrician to help you. Maybe there is an adapter or they can change one plug in your sewing room to accomodate your machine. I do not think that is a diy project. Please check with a professional because you have a nice machine.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I want to change my sewing machine electric volt from 250v to 110v

Have you tried finding a voltage converter much like travelers use when they travel to other countries with different power currents? That would probably be the most efficient and least expensive resolution.

We are from South Africa and moved to Canada what do we need to change the volts and hz to use our Bernina Bernette embraudery machine?

probably nothing as they make the machine for the country's utility power supplies
you will have to go to places like JAYCAR to get a step down transformer or go to an electrical retailer to get an inverter to do what you want
go to a sewing machine repair shop and discuss the problem

Where can I buy a user manual for a Brother Star 110 in Australia

Hope I'm not stating the obvious, but have you tried Brother ? I've dealt with them often in Canada and their service has always been terrific. Worth a try if you haven't tried it.

Site here, just pick your country.

American lead, how do i convert

How to convert an American lead will depend on where you are. You can buy a universal adapter at most travel stores, but first of all consider the local supply voltage. US power is delivered at 110 volts. Australia, Europe and much of the world have a 220 to 240 volt supply. Connecting a 110 volt machine to a 220 volt supply will create smoke and potentially flames - I've seen a number of disasters. Some machines are made to operate across both supplies. Check the label on the back of the machine, near where the power cable plugs in. If it reads 110 - 220 volt you should be OK. Your local Brother dealer should be able to supply a local market power cable for you. They cost around $30 in Australia.

I just bought a cs6000i sewing machine from USA. I live in India. Why is there smoke coming out of my new sewing machine? Is there a problem with the voltage?

Yes, India voltage is 240, USA is 110. You have probably fried it, should have purchased a machine from another 240V country like Australia of used a voltage converter to break it down.

Bought a singer from the state but cannot be used in australia what should i do?

If it is an electronic or computerized machine, you are out of luck. USA has 110 volt 60Hz current, Australia has 220 volt 50Hz. A transformer can change 220 to 110 volts, but it cannot change 60Hz to 50Hz.
