Press and hold th "on" button for a few seconds until it starts

  • Patrick Benson Oct 06, 2010

if the internal battery has gone completey flat, you will need to hook it up to a power supply. Make sure the connection terminals are clean. A pencil eraser is good for this. When you press the "ON" button, you will have to hold it for 5 seconds or more for it to start up again. Once the battery has been charged, a quick press and release of the button is all thet will be required

Can my TomTom XXL 540-S be used with GPS coordinates?

If you are referring to Latitude and Longitude , yes. You can use those co-ordinates to navigate to a destination. This especially works fine in countries where the Avenue and street information is not available. Google maps can give you the latitude and longitude coordinates. You can fed those into the GPS and navigate. Please note, you will need the maps of the region involved. Click (Tap) on the main screen. Tap on: navigate to Tap on : arrow Tap on: Latitude longitude Enter latitude and longitude using keyboard, Latitude first and longitude next. Be careful while you do this and do not forget to enter the directions North, West etc.

Under the the lid of my new tomtom XXL 540 gps is an offer for $20-00aus but it will not let me register can you help. John.

Dear John,

No, FisYa.com cannot register your device for you. We can suggest you go to the manufacturers site and register your device and we can suggest you contact them about the $ offer. If you are having trouble registering, you need to discuss that with the manufacturer. FixYa.com has no relationship with Tomtom that would facilitate this transaction.

Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com
