I have model# 3300. They are several years old.I need to know the wiring specs. I have a broken cable which plugs into the computer. I have red & blue wires & copper wires. These have been reattached but still almost no sound, barely audible. What is the wiring mistake I am making or is there another problem I am missing? Thanks, fwest15

It starts from the speaker with the volume control. The sub woofer has the power button

The solution was exactly as I thought but the volume was very low still. I don't have any other ideas. Thank you for all your help.

I'm not sure, but I assume that you mean Cyber Acoustics CA 3300 or CA 3770. Take a look at these official videos for the connection. In case that these videos didn't help you enough, please clarify me the model in order to give you specific details.

The broken cable that goes to computer, where does it starts from? From the subwoofer? From one of the speakers? Sorry for the details but, as you already know, your speakers are not available, so the technical documents are not much. Anyway, we will find the solution.

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

The cable has 3 wires in it; a red, a blue and a copper one. The last one is without any individual insulation. You have to connect the red one with the red wire of the other part of the cable and the blue one with the blue of the other part of the cable. These connection are not critical; The critical point is that the copper wire must be connected with the copper wire of the other end WITHOUT ANY JOINTS (cross wire) with the red - blue wires. I don't think it's very difficult. If you follow these connections the speakers must work (connected at the green jack at the computer).

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer. Also please describe me what is the problem after the connections; no audio at all, very low volume, noise or what?
If you are satisfied, accept my solution.

I assume that you have check the sliders for volume (master and wave or cd, whatever you use). A good idea is to use another set of speakers (or headphones) to check the computer's audio output, or a portable player (mp3 etc) connected at the CA's cable to check the speakers.

    Thanks for accepting my solution.

The wiring diagram & color code are in the installation manual which is available from Kenwood on the DNX6160 product site: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/DNX6160 . Click on the Manuals tab. The direct link to the manual is http://manual.kenwood.com/files/52d633463466d.pdf . See pages 4-5. Page 4 has the wiring for power, ground and other connections to the car's wiring/sensors. Do u have to bypass the factory amp to use a aftermarket head unit in a 2004 gmc envoy stanard system

If you do not have access to an aftermarket interface cable (some are available depending on brand and model of aftermarket radio), then yes, you have to bypass the amp if the new head unit has an internal amp, AND you wish to use the factory speakers with the new stereo.

There are many ways to do this, but if you want to do it yourself, the absolute best way is to get a copy of the dash harness wiring diagram from GM. This diagram will identify which pins in the radio dash harness connector run to the speakers and/or the amp, and whether you have to run new wires to the output side of the amp to connect to the speakers--this will not be specifically identified in the GM diagram (it will not say anything like 'to connect aftermarket radio, etc.), but it will be evident that you have to do this if there are no speaker pins in the in-dash connector.

When playing DVD, it's sometimes display 'PROTECT' and stop playing.

Check if you receive the error when playing any DVD in particular.

What happens when you take out the DVD and try playing it again? Does it play

This protector error denotes several possible problems. Heat, volume level and incorrect DVD settings may be the cause of the problem. The following steps will help you correct your problem and rid your amp of its "Protector" error.

  • Examine your volume setting to be certain that your volume knob is not at maximum. Having your volume cranked too high can cause the capacitors to overheat, shutting down the receiver.
  • Unplug your receiver and disconnect your speakers from the terminals on the back. This will allow you to determine if the error is internal. Plug your receiver back in and look for the same error message. If you continue to get the protector error without having your speakers connected, you may have an internal electrical problem. In this case, contact Sony about finding a repair center.
  • Reconnect your speakers one at a time. The order of connection doesn't matter. When reconnecting, be sure that you do not have your positive and negative speaker wires crossed in any way. After each connection, test your amp by running it with a source. Give each speaker a few minutes of power before connecting the next one. This will help you isolate which speaker terminal is causing the error. When the protector error returns, take note of which speaker connection caused it. Check this speaker wire for shorts or torn shielding.
  • Examine your ohm rating of your speakers if you have no shorts or wiring issues. Sony receivers are not compatible with speakers lower than 4 ohms. Connecting a lower ohm-rated speaker will cause an error.
  • Turn off the surround sound option if you have both your A and B position speakers in use.
  • Keep your receiver well ventilated. Overheating due to poor ventilation can also cause Protector errors.
  • Examine the sampling frequency of your connected DVD player. If the error only occurs when you watch a DVD, the sampling frequency of the DVD player may be set too high. Check the sampling rating in your receiver's manual and in the DVD player

JVC KD-R616 Car Audio Receiver wiring the speakers without the amp

The Front left and right speaker lines as well as the rear left and right speakers are marked on the output wires of the car stereo. These are marked and the positive line will be usually the wire with the same colour but with a line.
You can connect these individually to the speakers one by one... use the car harness if available.

Do LF and HF +/_ both be connected and if yes do they both go to speaker system A or separate to A and B on the amplifier.

From the factory, those are equipped with "jumpers", one for red-red and one for black-black. This allows for one speaker cable to power one speaker.

The jumpers can be removed, allowing for "bi-wiring", where you run two leads from a single amp channel to both inputs on each speaker. There's also "bi-amping", using a treble amp and a bass amp dedicated to each input.

If the jumpers are missing, you can use a short piece of stripped speaker wire to reconnect the upper and lower binding posts, just be sure to match colors.clmrt5000_0.jpg

Is there an adapter for Apple Pro Speakers M6531 for an Apple Mac Pro computer?

The only thing I have found that will work with these speakers is called the Griffin iFire. It use a firewire port on your mac to power the speakers and has a normal mini plug on the end of it. However, saying this they are not readily available you may be able to pick them up on ebay or another auction site at some point. An review of the iFire can be found at http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/general/54505/griffin-ifire

Original radio wiring harness

Google Volvo wiring diagram. They are available free. The diagram shows the wire location and colors. Otherwise, run a continuity test with a simple meter to discover a connection with some resistance between a pair of wires. If you here a click or two, from the speakers, you have found the right pair. Continue and label the pairs left, right, front, rear, until all are identified. Then reconnect. A pain but not rocket science.
