Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer

1 Answer

My cabrio was bought in 2007. A few months ago F1 displayed when starting a cycle but when reset several times would finish the cycle. then started to display at start of rinse cycle and have to turn to rinse cycle only. Now the rinse cycle will not finish and have to turn to drain and spin but will not complete that either now. Could it be clogged somewhere or is it electrical?

Hi,
F1 means the central electrical control unit, i.e. the onboard computer, has fatally failed

You need to call the service guy and they will replace the control unit. This is the only thing you can do.And this cost you around 150$ approximately.

Thank You

I am getting a F1 code in my washer which causes it to stop several times during a wash cycle, what do I need to do?

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

If you own a Whirlpool Cabrio and are experiencing an F1 error, you're unable to finish or start a load of clothes. When the Whirlpool Cabrio displays an F1 error, this means the the control board is having difficulty communicating with the motor.

To fix your F1 error, you can first try to unplug your washing machine for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. If this doesn't work, you will need to replace the control board. The only tools that you need to replace the control board is a Phillips screw driver and a 1/4" hex head driver. Be sure to unplug the machine from the electrical outlet before performing any repairs.
After unplugging your Whirlpool Cabrio washer, carefully pull the washer away from the wall (Watch your drain hose and the two inlet hoses.) Next unscrew the 3 screws located on the back of the Whirlpool Cabrio. Next, take a picture or make note of where each plug connects to the control board. Next, unplug each plug and the pressure tube. Lastly, unscrew the 1/4 screw then remove control board. Replace with new control board and reverse your steps to install. The new board will fix the Whirlpool Cabrio F1 error.

Information display is reading tire maintance evrytime I start the car.

You should check your Tire Pressure, ensure it is the recommended PSI (guessing 32 or 35) and once you confirm ALL TIRES are the same and the recommended pressure..

PRESS THE RESET BUTTON inside the FUSE PANEL and your problem will go away...

Have a great day

Information display window reads tire maintance and I just bought four new tires less than three months ago?

Ensure your Tire Pressure is correct and RESET your Tire Pressure in the FUSE BOX. They neglected to reset your Pressure

or

They Broke your one of your Sensors (Those Basttarts).. If that happened, bring it back to Firestone

I have a Whirlpool Cabario. I keep getting an error code of F1. I hit cancel and then start several times and it resets itself and continues. The same thing happens when it is about to start the rinse...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F1 indicates primary control failure and to resolve this you'll have to replace the machine control assembly. This error should be fixed by whirlpool as its a common issue with whirlpool Cabrio washers, you can call 1-800-253-1301 whirlpool will send a tech. to fix it and pay for the part. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Error code f 1

Hello, our carbio began flashing the F1 error code at 18 months. I have to hit the pause/start 4 or 5 times to get the cycle to begin. It also flashes occasionally at the rinse cycle (17 min.) I have called Whirlpool 3 times with little satisfaction. They have offered to pay for the part, but I will be responsible for the service call, diagnostic fee, and labor. I am not satisfied with this offer. It is obvious to me with so many others experiencing the same problem that Whirlpool has a quality issue with this machine. The sales rep who sold me the machine said to call Whirlpool everyday until they are sick of hearing from me. The more calls logged about the complaint, the better chance of a recall on the machine. If this is not resolved, I will NEVER buy Whirlpool again.

I have started a petition to be sent to the CEO of Whirlpool Corp., Jeff Fettit.
Follow the link, and please sign it! The more the better! Spread the word!
You may also copy and post it to any other groups/discussions about this problem.

Thank you

Every time I start the washer it stops and displays a F1

At first you can just cancel and start a few times and it will get it going for you.. However, Whirlpool has not put out for the public to know that there is a recall on the board.. Call whirlpool and let them know that you are having this issue and they will send a tech out, free of charge, and fix the problem... I just did this 2 weeks ago... Solved the F1 problem..

here's the part # W10189966. I guess whirlpool had a recall on the units and revised the control boards. might want to call whirlpool on that. Good luck :)

F1 error code

The F1 error code indicates a primary control failure or pressure signal out of range. Once the pressure hose & air dome have passed testing, the control board will need replaced. Good Luck And Please Rate FixYa!
