Sorry, but you need to describe the problem better.
You have indicated there is a problem with the operation of the piston, but not what the problem is?
Is it frozen, not retracting, leaking, vibrating, etc?

Saw dies after working for fifteen minutes

Could be a multitude of issues, I however suspect the carb is in need of adjustment. The chainsaw while operating under manufacturer specs runs between 900 degrees (F) and 1100 degrees (F) if the chainsaw exceeds 1100 (which after 15 minutes of use this is possible) the chainsaw quits or what is called a lean seizure, the piston swells and scores the cylinder walls. when the piston swells too much it seizes the chainsaw, after it cools down it the piston will shrink and the chainsaw will run again. Too many times and the piston will score the cylinder causing damage and space between the cylinder wall and the piston.

How does a pneumatic system work on an aircraft piston engine?

The piston engine is the power plant. It generates thrust by turning the propeller, electrical power through the generator, hydraulic power with engine oil and/or a hydraulic system. It also sometimes has a vacuum pump in the form of a sliding vane pump to operate the mechanical gyros instruments. On a piston engine there is no "bleed air" supply. For the cabin pressure pneumatic system, piston aircraft, take compressed air from the compressor side of the turbocharger (or supercharger old airplanes) and routed into the cabin as long as the engine is running. The outflow valve which regulates how much air is let out of the cabin is used to maintain the desired cabin pressure. The cabin outflow valve is controlled by a cabin pressure controller where the pilot sets the cabin pressure and climb or descent rates. This is the only pneumatic system I can think of other than "de-icing boots" on the wing leading edge that are pneumatically operated.
A "receiver" is usually associated with a receiver/dryer in an air conditioning system.

What transmission came with 1999 ford f250 club cab truck

I believe that reverse is operated by a brake band. So it seems to be stuck. It is operated by a piston, and the seal could have swelled and caused too much friction. But you could loosen up the adjustor so that it is disengaged, in order to get forward gears again. Perhaps you can force the piston to retract as well, once you drop the pan again.

It has rough idle when you first start it then straightens out after warming up

sounds like low compression at start up do to piston slap and not alowing car to warm up over the years before driving off. 3.1, 3.4, 3.5 motor pistons are exact size at operating temp there for cold temps at start up cause the pistons to slap the cylinder wall.. Gm engineers did this to reduce operating temp while driving by lowering friction in the cylinder. problem is most people these days start there cars and take off down the suggesting would be to check piston compersion at operating temp and see if it meets spefications for ur mottor before replacing any other parts...

Scorched pistons in a STIHL chainsaw - and its not the fuel mixture

What side of the piston is scored? If it's the exhaust side, it's running too lean, ergo, it's the mix ratio.

Engine will not turn over

Start with backwheel, do visual check of disk pads, are they stuck to disk?. If yes, try operate foot brake and see if piston moves to press pads and releases. If not, disassemble caliper from disk, remove brake pads, clean exposed area around pistons using WD-40 spray, use clean cloth to wipe clean piston, push piston in using C-clamps until flat with cylinder, watch brake oil servoir not to over flow when pushing pistons in, stick both pads into caliper, push foot brake until it presses both pads.snug, remove pads, push piston back in again. Fit caliper and pads back onto bike, operate foot brake, check brake operations.
Use a 200-320 grit fine sandpaper, clean your disk surface, wipe with clean cloth so no rust dust sticks to disk. Clean pad surface with petrol, wash away any grimes and oils.
Using your hand you should be able now to turn freely the back wheel now..
Squirt about 5-10cc light oil into combustion chambers, ensure oil soaks onto piston rings, put in high gear and try combustion pistons to complete emptying-intake-exhaust-fitring cycle at least twice.
Do oil change oil with fresh new oil, ensure as much as possible old oil are drained out, change filter.
Clean out old fuel from tank + fuel bowl gunks, make sure all needles and float bowl are clean
While having sparkplugs out, spray into combustion chambers reasonable amount of starter spray fuid and put plugs and starter motor into place.
Now if you have kickstart try use it for a couple of turn else just use your electric starter motor, the motor should strat running. Keep it running for abouot 10-15 minutes before doing any riding ensuring oil have circulated properly.
Let me know if any other problem creeps-up.

Can't get pistons to turn back in,after replacing rear brake pads

hi from uk the rear calipers pistons need to be rotated with piston also pressed inwards there is a tool specially for this you can purchase from auto supermarket ? it is simple to operate and the cheapest tool i recommend is one made by draper tool company other than this try pushing piston whilst rotating clockwise it would also help if you slacken bleed nipple on caliper to ease pushing piston back do not forget to bleed brakes later hope this helps?

Hot water wont fire up when hot tap is turned on . but firing up for radiators ok

Check the diverter valve is operating when hot is on demand. Depending on the boiler [valve types differ] most have a small piston [biro refill diameter] protruding which operates an electrical switch/contact.
replace switch.if valve piston works but not the switch OR it piston not working
replace valve [or diaphragm inside]
