Question about Mitsubishi WD-57733 57" HDTV

1 Answer

My Mitsubishi WD-57733 turns on with sound only, makes fan noises, makes a crackling noise associated with a component that is to the right side of the Lamp assembly, then shuts down. The Lamp looks good. The crackling component looks to be some kind of a zener diode on a board that looks like the Lamp power supply. it actually produces a flash when it crackles. When the TV shuts down, the red Lamp light is lit on the front panel. I've ordered a new Lamp, but the current one looks physically in tact. Do you have any suggestions?

It will turn on, with sound, no picture though and it keeps making a weird noise like a fan is going on and off.

It just happened to my TV. Same exact thing. You need a new lamp for your TV. you can get it on Amazon. Here what you need to look for if you want to do it on the cheap.

Tv lamp 915p061010. They usually run between 80 to 120. With the house. Around 70 to 100 without. If your not technically inclined get the one with the housing. If you wanna try it here a video to show you how to replace the bulb. Also a video how to replace the lamp itself

Your lamp has died. Refer to your manual on lamp replacement and remove the cartridge to confirm. then contact Mitsubishi for a replacement. They are the least expensive and the lamp is OEM.
