Question about Mitsubishi WD-57733 57" HDTV

1 Answer

My Mitsubishi WD-57733 turns on with sound only, makes fan noises, makes a crackling noise associated with a component that is to the right side of the Lamp assembly, then shuts down. The Lamp looks good. The crackling component looks to be some kind of a zener diode on a board that looks like the Lamp power supply. it actually produces a flash when it crackles. When the TV shuts down, the red Lamp light is lit on the front panel. I've ordered a new Lamp, but the current one looks physically in tact. Do you have any suggestions?

There is a crckling noise when i turn the tv on and now there is no picture i hit the reset button and now there is sound but still no picture and after a short while couple mins the tv cuts off.

Your lamp has died. Refer to your manual on lamp replacement and remove the cartridge to confirm. then contact Mitsubishi for a replacement. They are the least expensive and the lamp is OEM.
