I have a Canon MultiPass MP730 that is flashing the Alarm and reads cartridge jammed. However I can move the cartridge manually. The machine won't do anything because of the alarm. How do I fix this?...

To fix this you first need to remove the ink and the print head.
Wash the 4 ink pads in luke warm water.
Keep running the water over the bottom of the print head until the water shows no sign of ink colouration.
Make sure all of the print head is completely dry before replacing it into your printer.
After restarting your printer you will probably see the alarm light still flashing.
Now hold your finger on the resume button for up to 2 minutes or until you hear a clunking sound.
Hold your finger on this button and the printer will fix itself and the alarm light will stop.

"wrong cartridge" message appears, new

It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter.
I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 and F50 as well. Try:
Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#

2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 or F50 printers.

Canon Multipass F80 printer. "Check printer press resume key"

On the f80 you need a shop to go to service mode and get the error code and tell you what the problem is. Could be purge assembly, waste ink full, feeder error, printhead error, any number of possible problems.

Horrible grinding noise

The problem sounds like a broken or stripped gear in the printer. If the unit is under warranty I would contact the authorized repair station for that printer in your local area.

Getting an error message on my MP730 "Check Printer Hit Resume Key" Sounds like the ink head assembly is jamb. When I open the lid, it won't return to center, as it always had.

please do it in this order:

solution no. 1: detach and reinstall all cartridges,

solution no. 2: detach all cartridges, then detach and reinstall the print head

solution no. 3: put in printer another cartridges (only for checking the printer)

solution no. 4: put in printer another print head (only for checking the printer)

if any of these solutions does not work...

sorry...

you need buy another printer (mp730 was a quite wonderful multifunction printer: copy, print, scan and fax)
