Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

Our 37" VIZIO vx37L is not diplaying a screen. It's receiving power, and it's not a burnt fuse, so we are assuming it's an issue with a back light. Can this be fixed? How much does a problem like this cost to fix?

It can be the backlight inverter boards, 24vdc power supply problem.

VX37L Screen Suddenly Went Blank, Now No Image, Sound Only on Cable Input, VIZIO Logo Lights Up

Hello,
turn on the set, grab a bright flash light and dim the lights in the room. Shine the flash light on the screen, if you see a faint picture on the screen, you are dealing with a backlight problem. There are several things that can cause this. One, a bad backlight inverter, two, faulty 24vdc power supply, three, bad main board, or a bad faulty backlamp.

Vizio 37" no longer turn on

It depnds, if the board is labled with voltages at the DC output connectors or not, if not, you will have to trace out the connection to find out which one is 5vdc standby, switched 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24vdc (I have to do that all the time when I work on circuits without diagram).

I heard a pop, then the tv died. No lights, no sound, nothing, dead.

Check the power supply module first for blown up burnt parts, then the rest of the boards.

Vizio,model vx37L, won't turn on

Look at the power supply first; look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look to see if it has any voltage at the output connectors.

I have a Vizio VX37l and was watching it and then I heard a pop and the tv went black. The power light still is on on the Vizio on the front. I checked the fuse inside and it was fine.

It sounds like the 5vdc standby circuit is still working, that is why the main fuse is still good but you may have bad 24vdc power supply, look real close again for blown transistors or IC on the power supply board, but it can also be the backlight inverter circuit boards that blew up also. Look here to see what good parts look like: http://www.shopjimmy.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Vizio+VX37L+

1 Answer

Vizio has no power want to check fuse

remove back, only exposed board there is PS, look where blue/brown AC wire plugs into it, fuse (F1) is there (5amp-250v)
if fuse is good and you get no power or front light replace that board, or start component level troubleshooting (usually regulator trans or SM fuses (000)
