Re: Does not pick up water.
Http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618960&thid=628888 Does not pick up water. Posted by lazybug002 on May 28, 2008 What can I do and what part do I need to replace? I have taken it apart and clean it but still won't pickup the water. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright. It sounds to me that you may have a clog or an obstruction or the channel to the suction motor per say might be broken and is not creating the suction needed to pickup the water to the recovery tank. So check with your local factory authorized vac dealer that carries and services Bissell. I will give you the Bissell factory phone # listed below for further questions. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.bissell.com/Customer Service1-800-237-7691 Hours of Operation Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm EST Saturday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm EST Mail To: Headquarters, Bissell Homecare Inc P.O. All vacuum cleaners reach a point where they have to be taken all apart and cleaned, as they plug up internally.
Sounds like that is what you have.
You will need to find some really good compressed air, a really good shop vacuum, and perhaps some tools like wire coat hangers and plastic probes, etc., to take it apart and clean it out.
God bless your efforts.
in the front on top the cover that curves down to the floor is where the suction is .it should be plastic you can see into.its probably clogged with hair and dirt.you need tro take that top off and it comes apart in two sections .the middle seperates from the outer part.once apart you can clean it with soap and water.after you get that off you will see on your left side a long square port that needs to be cleaned also.please leave feedback.i hope i was of some help to.pete
Bad idea.... I think the foam got through the separator and into the fan system. When it dried it hardened and now it need to be taken apart and cleaned.
Turn it on for less than 1 sec and if you hear motor making humming sound - it is ALIVE and cleaning (maybe new fan blades too) may be all that it needs. If no sound at all it may be KAPUT. You must have smelled something burning when you turned on and it did not work.
for D4 and SE models - When cleaning I would recommend to replace bearings as they are not that expensive and if you took it apart - maybe a good idea to replace them. Also you probably will need a new gasket as when taking old one off (it is glued) it may rip apart.
I have the bissel power steamer / powerbrush # on front at bottom 310-3150 bought in october used it 2 times 3rd time it started acting up as follows
cleaned all parts. the spin dial wont spin. the switches on both steamer and hand wand won't spray. Sometimes works then stops. Water comes out the bottom when sitting. All parts look fine no damages.
Several possible problems:
1) Did you clean the blue lower pickup container (dirty water) before putting it away?
Take out the pickup container and open it up, check the filter (under the little blue piece on top) and also open up the container itself and clean under the flapper on the "screen".
2) Look inside the housing and check the vac hose that goes from the front of the unit up to the rubber grommet where it goes into the lower pickup container. Is it clogged? If yes, take off the front pickup (the part the runs along the floor in front of the rotating brushes) and run a very narrow lint pickup brush (like for cleaning dryer vents) and clean out the hose. It works great.
3) Check the front pickup for clogs and clean
4) If you are trying to pick up water, make sure the setting is set to wet. If you are trying to use it as a vacuum, set it to dry.
Hoover H3000 Floor Mat I have a H3000 Floor Mat the problem is it won’t pick up the water after the scrub clean the floor. What could be the causing the problem? I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The problem could be that the Hoover H3000 Floor Mat could be clogged or something is blocking the suction port or you may have a pinched line of some type of which would cause it to not pickup, feel free to check with a local vacuum dealer in your area or in the yellow pages or the Hoover factory phone number is listed below: http://www.hoover.comTelephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST
