Why is device activation code not working for hulu plus?

The TV probably needs a firmware update. They are needed frequently, and if not up-to-date you will get problems like that. Using the menu system, select "update." Note: They do not recommend updating via wireless because if anything goes wrong with the connection, your system is toast. Best bet is to download the update via computer onto a USB drive, then insert the usb drive into the TV (it may have a specific USB location for updates; check manual), and during the update process you will be asked whether to update via internet connection or USB drive. Select USB drive for "location" of update. (Go to Vizio web site, enter model number, and download the latest Firmware Update for your TV. NOTE: Do not do _anything_ with the TV during the update process... wait until after it says "complete.")

Vizio TV Input Menu Scrolling

Read the recommendation about holding the Input button of the side of the Vizio TV to 'reset' the Input option. The scrolling was driving me a bit nuts so I tried it and "IT WORK GREAT". Certainly beats having to replace the circuit board recommended in other suggestions submitted.. Thank you for you helpful advise.

Vizio half of screen is solid color bars. Top half works great.

You have either the circuit board that drives that half of the screen(one for top and another for the bottom) or you have a bad display panel.

hi,

It can be difficult to get things right on the first try. With that truism in mind, Vizio Incorporated includes USB ports on their televisions that you can use to load firmware updates onto the television. Vizio has released firmware updates only for certain television models, and the instructions for installing firmware updates vary slightly by model. To upgrade your television's firmware, you need to download and copy firmware drivers to a USB flash drive and then read and follow Vizio's specific installation instructions for your model.

1. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer

2. Click the "Start" button, and click the "My Computer" icon.
3. Right-click the flash drive, and click "Format" in the menu

4. Select "FAT32" in the drop-down menu, and click the "OK" button. Windows will format your USB flash drive with the FAT32 file system.

5. Open your Web browser, and navigate to the Vizio support Web site at www.vizio.com/support.

6. Click the "Select Your Product" drop-down menu, and select your model of Vizio television from the list. A new page will open that displays available downloads for your television

7. Click the "Firmware Update" link, and save the firmware update file to your computer.

8. Click the "Firmware Instructions" link, and read the instructions specific to your Vizio television model.

9. Right-click the file that you downloaded, click "Rename," and then rename the file to the exact name that is specified in the firmware instructions 10. Right-click the file, and click "Send to" > "E: USB Drive" or whichever drive letter corresponds to your flash drive. The firmware update file is copied to your USB drive 11. Right-click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the right side of the Windows task bar, and eject the device from your computer

12. Disconnect the USB drive, and plug it in to your Vizio TV's USB port.

13. Follow the steps in the firmware instructions to install the firmware update to your television.

Only you can find is the problem with firmware by udating the frimware of your tv. ok

Have a toshiba a10 and a vizio hdtv, what cable do I need to connect the two

Hi.

You don't say what you intend to do once the 2 devices are connected. I am going to assume that you just want to use the vizio hdtv as a large external monitor.

The laptop's vga (15-pin blue or black D-shaped) port can connect direct to the hdtv via it's blue vga (15-pin blue D-shaped) port.

However, your toshiba a10 laptop is relatively old, discoontinued technology with (in original specification) low RAM (256mb ddr), a single, slow processor (2.2ghz celeron) and slow (4300rpm), small hard drive (30gb), with limited, low level vga graphics capability, running xp home edition operating system. VGA is a slow analogue video technology.

To get the full benefit of the hdtv, which is almost state-of-the-art, you need a laptop with a fast dual or quad core processor, 3-4gb ddr3 RAM, 320-500gb 5400-7200rpm or solid state HDD, running the latest windows 7 operating system. Such a laptop would have hdmi ports and powerful, fast, state-of-the-art graphics capability.

A new laptop would unlock the full spectrum of , high definition video, high speed audio-visual streaming, fast video-editing, multimedia functionality between the two devices.

For your current laptop you need a male-to-male 15-pin, D-Sub VGA cable.

For the recommended or a similar, modern laptop you would need an HDMI cable.

Hope this helps.

I need to upgrade my player in order to view a movie i bought. the player did not come with a manual

You can update the player via the internet or a USB flash drive.

If you have connected the unit to the internet, then the update notice will appear in the Home Menu. Then press B (the green button) or use the Left or Right arrows to move through the menu to Settings and press Select. Then go to System (left/right) and use the down arrow to go to Update via the Internet and press Select. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If you choose to use a USB drive, you need one that is formatted in the FAT32 mode. It should be at least 1 GB and have 10 MB free. Make sure that there are no other .iso or .dat files in the root directory. Then go to Vizio.com to download the update at your computer.

However, there are no updates listed for the VBR231 in either the VBR231 support or the Vizio downloads section.

You can get a copy of the manual for the VBR231 from the Vizio site: http://www.vizio.com/home-theater-1/vbr231.html . Click on the Support tab.

I hope this helps. I wish that I had better news for you to watch your new disc.
