Question about Dell Inspiron B130 Notebook

1 Answer

I have been having trouble turning on laptop. I push and push on the power button but it won't turn on. Then the next time it will finally turn on. It keeps getting worse each time the laptop is turned off. I have it set to just sleep when not in use so it doesn't power down all the way. I think we lost power cause all the computers were off this morning and I can't get the laptop to turn on. Could this be just a power switch issue? Is it easy to test for? Is it easy to install (by myself)? Thanks for your help.

Yes, this is a power switch that is not working properly and neeeds replacement. Contact your Dell manufacturer and see if it can be repaired. I not familiar with the B130 but I have worked on some other Dell models and they seems to have the same issue for power on . the micro switch just gives out and the switch usually has to be replaced.

First, I recommend you call Toshiba support. Usually this happens because Toshiba may install some crapware with the laptop at first to control all part of the Hardware.

Do not hold the power button down while pressing the "0" key - it'll shut the computer off again. You just need to push it once to turn the power on and then hold the "0" key immediately after you push the power button on - just like turning on the laptop, but this time you're holding the "0" key down.

E5 error and all leds blinking

Follow these steps since E5 means cartridges are not properly installed i.e. if you have not changed the cartridges prior to this point.
If you have replaced the cartridges, then remove them first & after cleaning the electrical contacts replace them again.
Otherwise do the following

First power off the printer. Next, while holding STOP/RESET button, power on the printer.
While holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET button. Then push STOP/RESET button twice.
Wait about 20-30 second until the LED shows "0′. Then push STOP/RESET button four times.
Finally push POWER button twice. Last step is to turn off the printer by pressing the POWER button one last time.
