Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Player has Frozen

I was trying to transfer a song from the computer to my player and now it has been stuck on 'Updating player' for an entire day. I've tried the reset button more than once but what it does is shuts off and then when powered on it shows 'Updating player' ......... it loads for a few seconds and then freezes again. This has been happening repeatedly. I have even allowed it to stay off for about 8 hours or so and my computer is not recognising it when USB cable is plugged in. I'm so frustrated right now because I just got it about a month ago. Please assist where possible. Any useful advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I have a Philips GoGear SA3025/37, the only problem I have with the product is that from time to time it would stop playing so even when I press play, it does nothing, no matter what keys I press. When I power it down and back up it began to play again. I actually tired dowloading a new driver and it says the driver I had was already uploaded. Not sure what to do next. I even thinking of returning it for another GoGear model, but I a, not sure which one to get. Please reply to adiraosei@ymail.com

    Thanks

Reset one more time to shut off
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Then download the latest firmware upgrade for the player by going to the Philips Device Manager and clicking on Update button
You may need to restart your computer once between the volume + method and the firmware method

I have a SanDisk Sansa model e280r that has frozen. Music was put on there and then it was disconnected from the computer. The player began to refresh and has now stuck.

if this is happening frequently, then you must connect your mp3 player to the computer, then format it. after formatting, connect it to the computer then transfer all the songs. this should fix your problem.

Cant transfer limewire music from my computer to my mp3

You can't use Limewire directly to transfer songs to the Nextar. You will need to transfer the songs to the Nextar using Windows Media Player. Limewire puts the songs in a folder called "Limewire Downloads" usually. You will need to open Windows Media Player, run the mouse over the "Library" tab, and select "Add to Library." Once the window pops up you will need to add the folder called "Limewire Downloads" - it may take several minutes, but Windows Media Player is going to add all of those Limewire downloads to its own library. Then, you can use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs to the Nextar.

  1. Detach the player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
  2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on the player.
  3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button
  4. Select Format (All) and select Yes to format the player.
  5. After the player has finished formatting, select Reboot.
  6. Re-transfer the tracks to the player.

Skipping songs

We could try formatting the player and after the format has been complete try updating the firmware of the player. Change the settings fo the player to MSC then connect to your computer, open my computer and right-click the player and choose format remove the tick mark on the quick format and after the format has been completed. Unplug the device and go to the sandisk website and download the firmware update and install it and when it ask you to connect the device hook the plyer and perform the update for the player. Note: It may be the songs on the player are not that properly transferred that why it is skipping and also the player might also have had bad sectors that is why we have formatted the player. Hope this helps.
