Cloud computing is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer.

Benefits
The benefits of cloud computing are multifold. Cloud service providers manage the entire show at a nominal cost compared to dedicated service providers. Since the services are shared, there is also a lesser amount of risk with technical issues. Organizations can now get a more accurate sense of how much they are spending on the IT services as the cost is monitored and tracked per usage. The man-power resources used to manage the entire could set-up is also less overall as these are shared by multiple organizations, compared to the total network services man-power used by individual companies. Hence, the organizations using the cloud based services need not hire expensive resources to manage their networking services. Then its personnel in the organization can focus on developing process and improving performance.

Cloud computing means storing and accessing information via Internet using any devices - desktop, tablets, or smartphones. In other words, it's the use of Internet to store, manage and process data from the distantly placed servers and related services. "Cloud" means a location on Internet where you all data files, applications are stored, etc.
Cloud computing services can be grouped into 3 categories:
1) PaaS or Platform-as-a-Service (e.g., Google App Engine, OpenShift),
2) SaaS or Software-as-a-Service (e.g., QuickBooks Cloud, Microsoft office 365), and
3) IaaS or Infrastructure-as-a-Service (e.g., Amazon EC2, Google Compute Engine.).
The benefits of cloud computing include more flexibility, higher scalability, reduced infrastructure costs, no location constraints, better security, back-up and disaster recovery. Hi..................
In general, cloud computing customers do not own the physical infrastructure,
instead avoiding capital expenditure by renting usage from a third-party provider.
They consume resources as a service and pay only for resources that they use.
Many cloud-computing offerings employ the utility computing model, which is analogous to how traditional utility services (such as electricity) are consumed.
Sharing "perishable and intangible" computing power among multiple tenants can improve utilization rates,
as servers are not unnecessarily left idle (which can reduce costs significantly while increasing the speed of application development).
Thank you....
With regards..
Priya

if you mean Cloud Computing - massive computer infrastructure for storing data, and executing apps in a service like environment.

A Brief History of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing has grown in popularity over the years however, a steady increase has only been seen within the last 6 years or so. The arrival of Salesforce.com in the late 90s paved the way for software companies to deliver their software over the internet, by collecting data in the cloud and therefore Salesforce created the space for cloud CRM and ERP. In the early 2000s we saw Amazon Web Services (AWS) and (Elastic Cloud Computing) EC2 offer cloud-based services for computation, storage and virtualization. This helped many organizations reduce costs and allowed IT departments to focus more of their attention on pressing business matters. With the increase in bandwidth and a maturing internet web specification, logically, browser-based applications soon followed. (Anyone remember how cool it was to first use Google Docs??)

"As cloud computing extends its reach beyond a handful of early-adopter Google Docs users, we can only begin to imagine its scope and reach. Pretty much anything can be delivered from the cloud." - Cloud computing pioneer Jamie Turner.

That's right, anything can be delivered from the cloud. We are seeing a shift in data gravity to the cloud so now cloud analytics makes much more sense, pun intended. Sure there were some early movers who just took on-premise software and packaged it in cloud-style - but they were not engineered to be cloud first and some still aren't.

How do you get rid of the Microsoft Cloud?

Microsoft's Cloud service, One Drive, is backing up the data on your computer. If your pc is stolen or breaks down you data is safe on the cloud. Don't fight it, enjoy it - it is free, (except for some bandwith cost from your internet provider - and so long as you don't use more than the free storage provided), and you can access your data from any other pc in the world - by giving it the right login and password.

Can be deleted, go to the control panel and remove programs.

What is cloud mean in the restaurant business

The Cloud is a form of data storage used in just about every aspect of computers and even game consoles lately. Cloud storage exists on servers somewhere on out on the Internet, instead of data being stored locally like on your own computer hard drive or USB stick, thumbdrive, etc. Services include Skydrive by Microsoft, Google has it's own, heck everyone is giving away cloud storage these days anymore, for free even.

I can't get my chromebook to print to a my HP printer

Are you using the Google Cloud Print? If you are, you need to install a software called proxy, as part of the Chrome OS. The proxy will register the printer with the service.
Printer turned on? Classic printer installed on another computer?
When you first connected your printer to Google Cloud Print, you had to use another computer to enable the Google Cloud Print connector. Is the computer you used to enable the connector turned on? are you using the same user account you used to connect the printer to Google Cloud Print on your linux? If not, log in using the same Windows, Mac, or Chrome user account you were using when you connected the printer with Google Cloud Print.
If using a cloud ready printer; are you using the same user account you used to connect the printer to Google Cloud Print on your linux? If not, log in using the same Windows, Mac, or
Chrome user account you were using when you connected the printer with Google Cloud Print.
Delete the printer and reconnect the printer with Google Cloud Print. Are there duplicate printers on your Google Cloud Print page?
In Google Chrome, select Options > Show advanced settings > Sign out of Google Cloud Print.
Visit the Google Cloud Print page and click on Printers. Delete any duplicate printers (printers with the exact same name) and then sign in to Google Cloud Print again to print.
